Sophomore Desmond Ridder tossed two scores to tight end Josiah Deguara, and Michael Warren II ran for another pair on Saturday as the No. 20 Cincinnati Bearcats cruised to a 48-3 victory over the visiting UConn Huskies.
Ridder finished 13 of 23 for 136 yards and contributed 94 rushing. Gerrid Doaks had a game-high 123 yards on 13 carries with a score, and Warren totaled 60 yards as the team rushed for 307 yards.
Deguara posted 45 yards on five receptions.
The Bearcats (8-1, 5-0 American Athletic Conference) recorded their seventh consecutive win in a season for the first time since 2014 and are the only undefeated team in the AAC.
Huskies running back Kevin Mensah ran for 115 yards on 24 carries, but starting quarterback Jack Zergiotis was just 4 for 14 for 35 yards with an interception. Backup Mike Beaudry added 35 yards on 6-of-9 passing.
UConn (2-8, 0-6) suffered its 17th straight conference defeat and has only recorded wins over UMass and FCS school Wagner.
Playing in their homecoming contest, the Bearcats took charge from the outset against the struggling Huskies.
After its defense forced a three-and-out to start the game, Cincinnati used a series of chunk plays to go 62 yards in four plays. Ridder finished off the 92-second drive by tossing an 18-yard score to Deguara.
Later in the quarter, UConn's Omar Fortt was ejected for a targeting call on a hit on a receiver, and Ridder's 34-yard scramble set up Warren's touchdown run of 6 yards to cap a seven-play, 65-yard drive.
Kicker Cole Smith tacked on to the lead just 11 seconds into the second quarter when he drew in a 45-yard field goal for a 17-0 lead.
UConn forced a fumble on a hard sack of Ridder in the second quarter, but linebacker Dillon Harris became the Huskies' second ejected player when the replay booth ruled targeting despite it not being called on the sack.
Warren and Doaks rushed for short scores, and Ridder found Deguara with six seconds left for a 15-yard score as Cincinnati took a 38-0 lead at halftime.
Sam Crosa's 33-yard kick and Ryan Montgomery's short TD run put Cincinnati up 48-0, and Clayton Harris booted a 32-yard field goal for UConn's lone score.
