DJ Uiagalelei threw for three touchdowns and rushed for another as No. 4 Clemson beat host Florida State 34-28 in Tallahassee, Fla., on Saturday night.
Uiagalelei completed 15 of 23 passes for 203 yards and no interceptions for the Tigers (7-0, 5-0 ACC). He logged 14 carries for 26 yards.
Will Shipley paced Clemson's rushing attack with 121 yards on 20 carries. He also had a 69-yard kick return and a team-high six catches for 48 yards.
Jordan Travis led Florida State (4-3, 2-3) with 254 passing yards and two touchdowns, in addition to 64 rushing yards and a touchdown. It was the third straight loss for the Seminoles, who lost despite outgaining the Tigers, 460-370.
The score was tied 14-14 before the game swung in Clemson's favor in the final two minutes before halftime.
The Tigers capped off a 12-play, 39-yard drive with a 47-yard field goal from BT Potter to take the lead, and they got the ball back after the Seminoles fumbled four plays later. Clemson then covered 42 yards in three plays with Shipley breaking off a 36-yard run before Uiagalelei found the end zone on a 5-yard scamper.
Clemson continued to pour it on in the third quarter. Uiagalelei found Davis Allen for a 31-yard touchdown strike on the Tigers' first play of the half, and then Potter added another field goal -- this time from 34 yards out -- as the Tigers took a commanding 20-point lead.
Florida State scored twice in the fourth quarter, but never fully closed the gap in the waning minutes.
Clemson has now won seven straight against Florida State, a streak that dates back to 2015.
The Tigers will host the ACC's only other undefeated team -- No. 18 Syracuse -- next Saturday. That game is set for a noon EST kickoff on ABC. The Orange beat N.C. State 24-9 at home on Saturday.
