Navy 41, Indiana 35: Quarterback Keenan Reynolds rushed for 127 yards and three touchdowns as the visiting Midshipmen upset Indiana the Hoosiers for the second straight year.
Darius Staten ran for 106 yards and Geoffrey Whiteside added 97 yards as Navy piled up 444 yards on the ground in their wire-to-wire season-opening victory. Chris Swain and Noah Copeland each had a first-half rushing TD as the Midshipmen (1-0) bolted to a 17-0 lead en route to a 24-14 edge at halftime.
Nate Sudfeld came off the bench in the first quarter for the second straight week and threw for 363 yards and four touchdowns but was unable to overcome a 17-0 deficit. Ted Bolser had a pair of touchdown receptions and Kofi Hughes and Shane Wynn each had a scoring catch for the Hoosiers (1-1), who routed Indiana State 73-35 in its opener.
Reynolds, who rallied Navy from a nine-point fourth-quarter deficit in a one-point win over Indiana last season, scored on a pair of short runs to give the Midshipmen a 38-21 lead entering the fourth quarter.
Sudfeld's final TD pass, a 15-yard scoring strike to a leaping Bolser in the back of the end zone, cut the deficit to six with 3:53 left, but the Hoosiers never got the ball back as Navy recovered an onside kick and ran out the clock.
