New Mexico 21, Texas-San Antonio 9: Lamar Jordan ran for 106 yards and a score and Jhurell Pressley scored on a 77-yard run as the visiting Lobos took over in the second half.
Jordan was 7-for-11 for 72 yards for New Mexico (2-3), which avenged a comeback win by the Roadrunners in the only prior meeting last season. Crusoe Gongbay also had a rushing touchdown as the Lobos amassed 283 yards on the ground.
Jarveon Williams led Texas-San Antonio (1-4) with 95 yards rushing and a touchdown. Freshman Blake Bogenschutz took over at quarterback late in the first half and went 10-for-16 for 169 yards and an interception.
Sean Ianno's 20-yard field goal 36 seconds before halftime gave the Roadrunners the lead at the break and they went up 9-0 on Williams' 6-yard score less than four minutes into the second half. The Lobos then took charge, getting a 61-yard run by Jordan before Gongbay plunged in from 1 yard out and going up 14-9 on Jordan's 9-yard run with 1:57 left in the third.
Bogenschutz threw an incompletion on a fourth-down try deep in New Mexico territory early in the fourth and Texas-San Antonio was forced to punt moments later, setting up Pressley's long scoring run with 7:37 left. Tucker Carter, who was 4-for-8 for 60 yards for the Roadrunners, came back on in place of Bogenschutz but was intercepted on the ensuing possession and the Lobos ran out the clock.
