TEMPE, Ariz. -- Troy Willams set career highs with 296 yards passing and four touchdowns and No. 15 Utah spotted Arizona State a 13-point lead before rolling to a 49-26 victory on Thursday at Sun Devil Stadium.
Williams threw three touchdown passes to wide receiver Raelon Singleton, who set career highs with 116 receiving yards and touchdowns.
Joe Williams rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns on 82- and 40-yard runs in the second half. He has rushed for 864 yards and eight touchdowns in four games since ending a self-imposed retirement.
Utah safety Chase Hansen had a 34-yard interception return for a touchdown with 5:46 remaining for a 42-26 lead.
The Utes (8-2, 5-2 Big 12) stayed alive in the Pac-12 South race. They are one-half game behind No. 11 Colorado (7-2, 5-1) but finish the regular season on Nov. 29 in Boulder. The Utes have beaten No. 20 USC (6-3, 5-2).
Manny Wilkins passed for 309 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions for Arizona State (5-5, 2-5), which has lost four in a row and five of six.
Utah had 11 sacks, five by defensive end Hunter Dimick and three by defensive end Pita Taumoepenu, and forced Arizona State into 22 plays for negative yardage.
Kalen Ballage rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown and caught seven passes for 118 yards for Arizona State.
Zane Gonzalez made a 24-yard field goal midway through the first quarter after Utah's second turnover on its first two possessions.
Arizona State made it 13-0 when Ballage scored on a 2-yard run after taking a direct snap with 4:09 left in the quarter and Gonzalez added a 36-yard field goal with 40 seconds remaining.
Troy Williams threw touchdown passes on the next two possessions for a 14-13 lead.
Singleton caught a 64-yard touchdown pass two plays into the second quarter and Siaosi Wilson caught a 27-yarder in the right front corner of the end zone with 10:13 left in the quarter, a touchdown that was upheld on review.
Wide receiver N'Keal Harry fumbled a lateral pass from Wilkins six yards behind the line of scrimmage but recovered and threaded his way through the defense for a 31-yard touchdown run and a 20-14 lead with 3:36 remaining in the first half.
Singleton caught a 17-yard pass with 22 seconds remaining in the half for a 21-20 lead. No defender was within 15 yards.
