Utah State is bad. Temple is worse. Utah State’s critical problem is its defense, bottom-three in the country by some metrics. Against Temple, that won’t matter, not against a bottom-10 offense. The only thing the Owls do well is turn over the ball. In 27 games with Stan Drayton as head coach, Temple has suffered a -42 turnover margin. The Aggies may not be used to edges like that, but it is such a staunch one, it should propel a rather average offense (a compliment in a matchup like this) toward enough points to cover this one-possession spread.
