Michigan @ Indiana preview

Memorial Stadium (Bloomington, IN)

Last Meeting ( Nov 19, 2016 ) Indiana 10, Michigan 20

No. 16 Michigan looks to bounce back from its first loss of the season when it hits the road to face Indiana on Saturday. The Wolverines turned the ball over five times and were held to 300 total yards in the disappointing 14-10 defeat to 22nd-ranked Michigan State, and they hope to kickstart a moribund offense that's been hobbled by a porous offensive line that ranks 118th nationally in sacks allowed (3.2) and 115th in tackles for loss allowed (7.6) per game.

Michigan has dominated the series with the Hoosiers for the past three decades, winning the last 21 meetings, including nine straight in Bloomington, and the Wolverines aim to get back on track in their quest for their first Big Ten title since 2004. Indiana bounced back from a 45-14 loss to third-ranked Penn State by blanking FCS outfit Charleston Southern 27-0, which was the Hoosiers' first shutout in 24 years. Freshman quarterback Peyton Ramsey looked calm and composed in his first collegiate start as he threw for 321 yards and two touchdowns against the Buccaneers and he hopes to lead the Hoosiers to their first victory against the Wolverines since a 14-10 triumph on Oct. 24, 1987. "Michigan is what we expected as they're really good at what they do," Ramsey told reporters. "They mix up a lot of things to try to confuse you."

TV: Noon ET, ABC. LINE: Michigan -6.5

ABOUT MICHIGAN (4-1, 1-1 Big Ten): John O'Korn was limited to 198 yards with three interceptions on 16-of-35 passing in the loss to the Spartans. "We're going to get back after it and we're going to come back stronger," Michigan wide receiver Grant Perry told reporters. "We took one on the chin but we've got to get over that and get ready for Indiana." The Wolverines moved Drake Harris, who was a highly touted 4-star wide receiver prospect in 2014, back to his original position after a switch to cornerback in fall camp while quarterback Wilton Speight will miss "multiple weeks," with a cracked vertebrae, according to Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, who refused to confirm reports that the junior quarterback is sidelined for the rest of the season.

ABOUT INDIANA (3-2, 0-2): Ramsey went 32-of-41 through the air to go along with 54 rushing yards and a touchdown in his first start since usurping Richard Lagow as the starting quarterback. Taysir Mack hauled in a career-high seven receptions for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns against Charleston Southern to become the first freshman to surpass 100 receiving yards in a game since Tandon Doss achieved the feat in 2008. Tight end Ian Thomas and defensive end Nate Hoff are expected to return after missing the win over the Buccaneers through injury while dynamic kick returner/wide receiver J-Shun Harris II is questionable for Saturday's homecoming game.

EXTRA POINTS

1. Michigan leads the nation in total defense (213 yards per game).

2. Indiana is ranked second nationally in defensive three-and-outs per game (6.80).

3. The Wolverines are 17-1 all-time at Memorial Stadium.

PREDICTION: Michigan 23, Indiana 13
