ABOUT SOUTH ALABAMA (2-0): The Jaguars' fledgling program is undergoing the transition to the FBS. The Jags are a Football Championship Subdivision participant this season and will be a FBS program and member of the Sun Belt Conference in 2013. Joey Jones has overseen the South Alabama program since its inception and the Jaguars have yet to lose a game on his watch.
ABOUT NORTH CAROLINA STATE (1-1): The Wolfpack have allowed 316 passing yards per game, putting them 112th in the FBS and next-to-last in the Atlantic Coast Conference in front of only Miami. Coach Tom O’Brien does not anticipate shaking up his personnel or scheme, but said his team has to start getting more pressure on the quarterback.
EXTRA POINTS
1. South Alabama has topped 200 rushing yards in both games this season and four of its last five.
2. North Carolina State does not have much time to prepare for its next contest - the Wolfpack play at Cincinnati on Thursday.
3. Wolfpack wide receiver T.J. Graham enjoyed a career day against Wake Forest, going for 117 yards on six catches, including a career-long 63-yard touchdown reception. Graham already holds North Carolina State records for kickoff return yardage in a game, season and career.
PREDICTION: North Carolina State 34, South Alabama 10 - Superior depth and talent make the difference as the Wolfpack hand the Jaguars their first loss.
