THE STORY: No. 7 Oklahoma State looks to win its fifth straight and improve to 5-0 for the second consecutive season when the Cowboys take on Kansas at Boone Pickens Stadium. Oklahoma State, coming off a bye, rallied from a 20-13 halftime deficit to beat then-No. 13 Texas A&M on Sept. 24. The Cowboys’ No. 3 ranked offense scored 27 straight points in the 30-29 win. Meanwhile, Kansas enters looking for its first conference victory after blowing a 20-0 lead against Texas Tech. The Jayhawks scored on each of their first three possessions before being outscored 38-14 in the final three quarters. Oklahoma State leads the all-time series 30-29-2 and has won six of the last seven meetings, including last year’s 48-14 win in Lawrence.

ABOUT KANSAS (2-2, 0-1 Big 12): Kansas scored five touchdowns and totaled more than 450 yards of offense, but still came up short in last week’s game against the Red Raiders. Offensively, the Jayhawks are led by sophomore quarterback Jordan Webb, who despite throwing three touchdown passes tallied three interceptions in the losing effort. Kansas, which has allowed more than 44 points per game, will have its hands full trying to slow down the Cowboys’ aerial attack.
ABOUT OKLAHOMA STATE (4-0, 1-0 Big 12): Led by quarterback Brandon Weeden, Oklahoma State has the nation’s second-best passing offense, averaging more than 415 yards per game. Weeden, who has thrown two or more TD passes in 15 of 17 career starts, finished with a school-record 438 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Texas A&M. Wide receiver Justin Blackmon caught 11 passes for 121 yards and a touchdown against the Aggies, which marked his third straight game with a TD reception. Defensively, Oklahoma State has been anything but spectacular, allowing more than 27 points per game.
