Connecticut's roller-coaster season took another twist last week, when it snapped a two-game skid with a win against East Carolina. UConn shoots for its second two-game winning streak of the campaign when it visits Tulane on Saturday.

The Green Wave put a fleeting scare into No. 13 Memphis last week. Tulane jumped out to a 13-0 lead and still was in the game late in the third quarter before eventually falling 41-13. In the end, it was another lopsided loss for Tulane, whose only FBS victory came against winless UCF. All six of the Green Wave's losses have come by at least 17 points.

ABOUT UCONN (4-5, 2-3 AAC): Running back Arkeel Newsome continues to be an all-purpose monster, recording 244 yards in last week's 31-13 win over the Pirates. Newsome had an electric 90-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to break open the game and currently ranks 16th nationally in all-purpose yards. UConn allowed 340 total yards last week, a vast improvement after surrendering more than 1,000 over the two prior weeks.

ABOUT TULANE (2-6, 1-4): Redshirt senior quarterback Jordy Joseph made his first career start against Memphis due to injuries to Tanner Lee and Devin Powell. Lee, who has completed 57.8 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns, is expected to start after returning to practice earlier in the week. The Green Wave have been outscored 303-144 on the season, but all six of their losses have come against teams that have been ranked nationally at some point during the season, and their remaining opponents have a combined record of 11-22.

1. Tulane has lost four straight contests.

2. The Green Wave edged UConn 12-3 last season, also at home.

3. UConn must win two of its remaining three games to become bowl eligible and finishes the season with nationally ranked Houston and Temple.
