Hawai'i @ Oregon State preview
Reser Stadium
Last Meeting ( Sep 13, 2008 ) Hawaii 7, Oregon State 45
Oregon State is fuming after getting upset by Eastern Washington last week, and the Beavers hope to rebound when they host Hawaii on Saturday. The Beavers dropped out of the Top 25 as a result of the 49-46 loss in which the Eagles -- an FCS team -- rolled up 625 yards of total offense, including 448 through the air. Oregon State had a chance to tie at the end, but Trevor Romaine's 52-yard field goal missed wide right.
The Beavers are looking to erase the taste of that loss as they face a Rainbow Warriors squad that was defeated by then-No. 24 USC last week, 30-13. Hawaii and Oregon State have met eight times with the Beavers holding a 5-3 advantage. Oregon State won 45-7 in the last meeting between the teams in 2008.

ABOUT HAWAII (0-1): The Warriors actually held a 5-3 lead over USC in the second quarter last Saturday but then went scoreless until the final 30 seconds of the game, when a late touchdown made the final score slightly more respectable. Taylor Graham completed just 16 of his 41 passing attempts and threw four interceptions for Hawaii. The Warriors also were dominated on the ground, as USC held a 192-23 rushing advantage.
ABOUT OREGON STATE (0-1): Eastern Washington was one of seven FCS programs to score an upset over an FBS team last week, but it was the first time an FCS school defeated a ranked FBS team since 2010. Despite the loss, Oregon State did receive huge offensive performances from Sean Mannion (422 passing yards, three TDs) and Brandin Cooks (13 catches, 196 yards, two TDs). Although it was tough to tell last week, Oregon State improved from three wins to nine wins last season - the biggest turnaround in school history.
EXTRA POINTS
1. Cooks needs just 89 yards to crack the top 10 on Oregon's career receiving yards list.
2. This is the first year the Beavers are opening the season with back-to-back home games since 2005.
3. Even though Graham is a fourth-year junior, last week's game was his first start since his senior year of high school.
PREDICTION: Oregon State 42, Hawaii 20
