Delaware State @ Temple preview

Lincoln Financial Field

Temple hopes to bounce back from its narrow loss to Navy when it welcomes Delaware State to Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday. The Owls were driving late with a chance to tie the game, but couldn't punch the ball into the end zone to suffer their first defeat of the season. Temple has forced 10 turnovers in its first two games and will look for more of the same against the Hornets, who have done a nice job of hanging onto the football after coughing it up three times in their season opener.

The Owls are coming off a bye week, but will still be wary of the Hornets especially after last year's disappointing loss to FCS member Fordham. "We spent the open week really just trying to get better and prepare for Delaware State," coach Matt Rhule told reporters. "We're not good enough to take anyone lightly." Delaware State has dropped its first three games and things are not likely to get any easier as it faces its first FBS opponent since losing 63-6 to Michigan in 2009.
