A pair of prolific offenses square off when Missouri travels to Indiana for a non-conference contest Saturday night. Both teams rank in the top 20 in the nation in total offense - the Hoosiers are eighth with 571.3 yards per game and the Tigers are tied for 17th at 539 - and in the top 10 in scoring. Both offenses are fairly balanced, though the Tigers tend slightly more toward the run while the Hoosiers lean heavily on the arm of freshman quarterback Nate Sudfeld.

The Tigers were off last week following a 38-23 victory over Toledo and are seeking their first 3-0 start since 2010, and coach Gary Pinkel hopes the coaching staff's extra week to prepare for Indiana's up-tempo offense will pay off. "We had a good week preparing for this game," Pinkel told reporters. "It is obviously a big game for us, playing a Big Ten team and they will be a challenge for us." Indiana leads the series 6-2-2 but the teams have not met since 1992.

ABOUT MISSOURI (2-0): The Tigers have been balanced on offense with senior quarterback James Franklin healthy and guiding the offense, but they might need to focus on their stable of running backs against an Indiana team that has allowed 237 rushing yards per game. Franklin and tailbacks Henry Josey (139 yards) and Russell Hansbrough (135) lead the way on the ground and Franklin has completed 66.7 percent of his passes for 530 yards and four touchdowns. The defense has been susceptible at times and needs to pressure Sudfeld and disrupt the Hoosiers' rhythm.

ABOUT INDIANA (2-1): The Hoosiers had some issues to sort out on defense after allowing 76 points while splitting their first two games, but they were much improved in that area during a 42-10 victory over Bowling Green last week. The offense, meanwhile, continues to hum along to the tune of 50 points per game with Sudfeld leading the charge with 917 passing yards and 10 touchdowns against two interceptions. Indiana needs Tevin Coleman (332 rushing yards, five touchdowns) to keep up his solid performance in the running game to keep the Tigers from pinning back their ears and going after Sudfeld.

EXTRA POINTS

1. Pinkel is 92-61 at Missouri and needs one win to match Dan Devine for second in school history.

2. Indiana K Mitch Ewald needs three field goals to match Scott Bonnell's school record of 48 in his career.

3. Missouri has forced at least one turnover in 32 consecutive games dating to a loss at Nebraska on Oct. 30, 2010.

PREDICTION: Missouri 41, Indiana 37
