Last Meeting ( Nov 19, 2011 ) Oklahoma 38, Baylor 45

Oklahoma has enjoyed considerable success this season due in large part to a stingy defense and a versatile rushing game. The No. 13 Sooners will need both factors to be in play on Saturday when they host Big 12 rival Baylor. Oklahoma is allowing a conference-best 17.8 points and league-low 312.9 yards per contest, but both will be put to the test against high-octane Baylor. The Sooners have also dominated the Bears - winning 20 of 21 meetings. The exception, however, came last year as eventual Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III torched Oklahoma for 479 yards and four scores as Baylor posted a 45-38 victory. Both clubs kept their offenses in gear last weekend as Oklahoma seized a 35-20 triumph over Iowa State and Baylor secured its first conference win with a 41-14 victory over Kansas.

ABOUT BAYLOR (4-4, 1-4 Big 12): While Griffin has ventured on to the Washington Redskins, wideout Terrance Williams remains in Waco. Williams, who reeled in the pivotal 34-yard touchdown reception from Griffin with eight seconds remaining against the Sooners last season, leads the Bears in 2012 with 71 receptions and 1,340 yards. Keeping Williams in check is the responsibility of Oklahoma, which ranks 17th in both total defense (312.88 yards) and scoring (17.75).

ABOUT OKLAHOMA (6-2, 4-1): Landry Jones penned arguably his best performance to date this season by tossing for a season-high 405 yards and four touchdowns last week. Efforts like those have bolstered the Sooners' high-octane offense, which ranks 14th nationally in yards (488.8) and 15th in points (39.5). With injuries in the backfield, Brennan Clay stepped up last weekend to the tune of a career-high in both yards (157) and carries (24).

EXTRA POINTS

1. With a win Saturday, Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops will move past Bud Wilkinson and into second place in school history. Stoops and Wilkinson are tied with 145 victories.

2. Baylor's passing offense ranks first nationally at 392.1 yards per game, but its defense is yielding 527.3 yards - also the most in the nation.

3. Sooners RB Damien Williams was limited during last week's game against Iowa State. Williams, who is nursing an ankle injury, is questionable to play Saturday.

PREDICTION: Oklahoma 38, Baylor 21
