Carolina Hurricanes vs Anaheim Ducks Match Player Stats On Oct 18, 2019

Jakob Silfverberg continued his torrid scoring stretch as the Anaheim Ducks remained undefeated at home this season with a 4-2 victory against the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday.

The 29-year-old right winger has four goals, three assists and a plus-10 rating in the past six games.

Adam Henrique, Troy Terry and Carter Rowney also scored for the Ducks, who built a 4-0 lead less than six minutes into the second period. Goaltender Ryan Miller made 22 saves as Anaheim improved to 4-0-0 at the Honda Center.

Erik Haula and Haydn Fleury scored for the Hurricanes. Goalie Petr Mrazek was pulled less than six minutes into the second period after allowing four goals on 13 shots. James Reimer came in and blanked the Ducks the rest of the way, stopping all seven shots he faced.

Carolina lost for the third time in four games following a season-opening, five-game winning streak.

Silfverberg scored what proved to be the winner 37 seconds into the second period. He took a cross-ice pass from Michael Del Zotto at the Carolina blue line and broke in alone down the right wing. Silfverberg's first shot snuck through Mrazek's pads and trickled just past the right post, but Silfverberg was able to get his own rebound and slide the puck back around the post with a backhander. That gave the Ducks a 3-0 lead.

Anaheim struck twice in the first period.

Henrique opened the scoring at 4:06, snapping a wrist shot from the left faceoff circle over Mrazek's blocker.

Terry scored at 13:44, tipping Cam Fowler's shot from the point into the net.

Following Silverberg's goal, Carter Rowney chipped a short-handed backhander over Mrazek to make it 4-0, ending the goalie's night at 5:56 of the middle period.

Haula extended his point streak to five games (four goals, one assist) at 8:47 of the second with a power-play goal. Haula deflected Teuvo Teravainen's point shot past Miller.

Fleury scored his first NHL goal to cap the scoring, beating Miller with a low slap shot from the top of the left faceoff circle at 12:20 of the second. The 23-year-old defenseman, early in his third season, was playing in his 96th career game.
