Last Meeting ( Dec 5, 2019 ) Arizona 3, Philadelphia 1
The Arizona Coyotes have struggled to find their footing at home this season while the Philadelphia Flyers have routinely fallen flat away from the City of Brotherly Love. The Coyotes, however, have slowly taken steps to remedy their troubles at home and look to continue that progress on Saturday against the Flyers.
Boasting a sizzling 13-6-3 mark on the road, the Coyotes have crawled back to .500 on home ice after winning their second consecutive contest at Gila River Arena on Thursday following a three-goal third period in a 4-2 victory over Anaheim. "We knew it was a big game for us," captain Oliver Ekman-Larsson said. "We knew that we had to start putting some wins together at home in front of our fans." Philadelphia hasn't been as fortunate on the road, as the club surrendered four goals in the first period for the second straight game in Thursday's 5-4 loss versus Vegas. Arizona native Sean Couturier collected two goals and an assist in that contest and set up a late tally by defenseman Matt Niskanen in the Flyers' 3-1 setback to the Coyotes on Dec. 5.

ABOUT THE FLYERS (22-14-5): Captain Claude Giroux collected a goal and an assist on Thursday and carries a five-game point streak (two goals, four assists) into Saturday's encounter versus the Coyotes. The 31-year-old leads the team in goals with 13 this season, while his next will serve as the 250th of his career. Jakub Voracek, who has a club-best 25 assists, set up a pair of goals for the third straight game on Thursday and has nine helpers in his last seven.
ABOUT THE COYOTES (23-16-4): Conor Garland, who leads the team with 14 goals, helped ignite the third-period barrage by setting up Christian Dvorak's tally to extend his point streak to a career-high four games (two goals, three assists). Garland and Dvorak weren't alone with the offense, however, as all 12 forwards recorded a point in the same game for just the second time in franchise history and first since the original Winnipeg Jets accomplished the feat on March 25, 1987. "We know we’ve got a lot of depth on this team and it was a big night for all four lines," the 23-year-old Dvorak said. "Everyone played well so it speaks volumes about our team."
