Last Meeting ( Oct 21, 2019 ) Ottawa 1, Dallas 2

The Dallas Stars had to dig themselves out of a deep hole after losing eight of their first nine games (1-7-1) this season and that resiliency was on display in their latest victory. After erasing a three-goal deficit in a 4-3 overtime victory at Montreal on Saturday, the Stars bid for the fifth consecutive victory at the Ottawa Senators on Sunday night.

Dallas spotted the Canadiens a 3-0 lead 6 1/2 minutes into the contest before roaring back and prevailing on Tyler Seguin's second goal to close within one point of first-place St. Louis in the Central Division. The Stars improved to 6-1-1 over their last eight games overall and are riding a six-game road point streak (5-0-1) heading into the final stop of their three-game trek. Dallas also is 5-0-1 in its last six against the Eastern Conference entering the matchup against the skidding Senators, who have lost seven of eight (1-5-2) after Saturday's 4-2 loss to visiting Toronto. It is the third of a a six-game homestand for Ottawa, which has dropped 17 of 20 (3-10-7) since returning from the Christmas break.

TIME: 6 p.m. ET. TV: FS Southwest, TVAS, TSN5

ABOUT THE STARS (34-19-5): Seguin halted a 17-game goal drought with a power-play tally in Thursday's 3-2 victory at Toronto and converted again on the man advantage against Montreal before delivering the game-winner in overtime for his first two-goal game since Dec. 20. With Ben Bishop facing Montreal on Saturday night, Dallas will go with backup Anton Khudobin in Sunday's matchup. Khudobin has surrendered six goals during a three-start winning streak and turned aside 19 of 20 shots in a 2-1 victory over Ottawa on Oct. 21.

ABOUT THE SENATORS (19-28-11): Rookie netminder Marcus Hogberg was pulled from Saturday's start after surrendering three goals on 16 shots and replaced by Craig Anderson, who stopped all 14 shots he faced to earn the nod against Dallas. Anderson has yielded at least four goals in six of his last eight starts but owns an 8-3-0 mark with a 2.99 goals-against average versus the Stars. Connor Brown ended a nine-game goal drought with his 11th tally Saturday to boost his team-leading point total to 36, matching his career high.
