Look for a slow start to this afternoon tilt, with both teams easing back into action with additional attention to defensive detail. I’m anticipating the Oilers doing the heavy lifting, too. The Oilers have surrendered the fifth-fewest goals per game (2.47) during their active 24-8-3 stretch, which also includes allowing the eighth-fewest expected goals per 60 minutes (2.33) at five-on-five. Even better, during the same timeframe, the Flyers allowed the fewest expected goals per 60 (2.06) at 5-on-5. Plus, there’s a better than zero chance Edmonton superstar Connor McDavid isn’t fully dialed in for Saturday's early start.
