Tuivasa vs Hardy betting preview

Tai "Bam Bam" Tuivasa was on the verge of being dropped from the promotion after suffering three losses in a row but has since bounced back with consecutive knockout victories, most recently against Harry Hunsucker in March.

Tuivasa is a powerful puncher who sets up his boxing with excellent use of low kicks. Of Tuivasa's 11 career wins, 10 have come by KO/TKO within the first round.

A former Pro Bowl defensive end with incredible physical tools, Greg Hardy entered the UFC with plenty of hype in 2019 but has never really put it all together in the octagon. The 32-year-old is coming off a knockout loss to Marcin Tybura and has two wins, two losses, and a no-contest in his last five fights.

The no-contest against Ben Sosoli is interesting because what was originally a unanimous decision win for Hardy was overturned because he used an inhaler to combat his asthma between rounds. Poor cardio has been among the criticisms of Hardy, with the former NFL player boasting impressive power and athleticism but lacking skill both on the mat and in striking exchanges.

Tuivasa vs Hardy UFC prediction and betting pick

PREDICTION: - Moneyline Greg Hardy (+116) - It's kind of weak to see a pair of unranked and generally unimpressive heavyweights face off as the third fight on the main card of a pay-per-view event. But, we should at least be entertained by a stand-up affair, since neither fighter is comfortable on the ground.

Tuivasa loves to chop his opponents with leg kicks but Hardy already dealt with a similar approach from Yorgan de Castro last year and adjusted mid-fight to cruise to victory. While Hardy's gas tank is questionable, Tuivasa is hardly a cardio-machine himself, with only four of his 14 career bouts going past the first round — and Tuivasa lost three of those.

Hardy showed enough improvement as a striker against de Castro and Maurice Green to handle Tuivasa, while his five-inch reach advantage should prove crucial as he fires his straight and manages distance.
