Gaethje vs Chandler betting preview

Justin Gaethje is coming off an unsuccessful title challenge of Khaib Nurmagomedov last October when he was submitted in the second round. That loss snapped a four-fight winning streak where he had three consecutive first-round finishes before picking up a late TKO against Tony Ferguson

Gaethje has incredible power in his hands and has a career 22-3 record with 19 knockouts. He's more than just a power-puncher though: possessing strong technical boxing ability along with great footwork and excellent use of leg kicks to set up his combinations.

Chandler made his highly-anticipated UFC debut in spectacular fashion in January, knocking out Dan Hooker in the first round. That earned him a bout against Charles Oliveira for the interim lightweight title in May. Chandler landed some big shots in the first round but was finished by strikes in the second.

Chandler was a three-time lightweight champ at Bellator and left the promotion with records for the most wins (18), finishes (13), and title bouts (11) in its history. The 35-year-old is a very well-rounded fighter that combines excellent wrestling with knockout power and a high-pressure style.

Gaethje vs Chandler UFC prediction and betting pick

This fight should be absolute fireworks and while Chandler is the superior MMA wrestler, Gaethje was an NCAA Division I All-American wrestler at Northern Colorado so he has the pedigree to keep this fight standing up. Both of these guys have explosive power and Chandler can be a bit too aggressive and hittable at times.

Before Gaethje's loss to Khabib, he had a streak of 11 consecutive fights end in knockout (nine wins and two defeats). Meanwhile, Chandler's last five fights have all ended by KO/TKO within the first six minutes (three wins and two losses).

Being able to grab this prop at a better price than Gaethje's moneyline is too good to pass up.
