After watching their seven-game win streak go up in smoke, the Minnesota Lynx try to get back into the win column when they host the Chicago Sky.
Our Sky vs. Lynx predictions are eyeing the total, however, with Minnesota's defense expected to be the dominant force on Sunday. Read more in our WNBA picks below.

My analysis
The Chicago Sky are fortunate they haven’t fallen off the end of the playoff bus. They’re still hanging onto the eighth and final playoff berth, with the recent struggles of the ninth-place Dream keeping the distance at just a single game.
The Sky were blasted at home last time out, 100-81 by the Fever. Already second-last in scoring in the league at 78.4 points per game, Chicago has been even more stagnant over this skid, putting up just 72.8 per contest.
That’s just not enough points to hide the problems of a defense that's surrendering nearly 84 points per game over the previous five losses. The Minnesota Lynx are in their own race, starting the day just a half-game back of the Sun for the No.2 seed.
Their win streak came to a screeching halt, pounded by the lowly Wings 94-76. That’s the lowest point total Minny has put up in the last nine games as they shot 39.7% from the field and 28.6% from 3-point range.
Will the Sky be a soft landing spot that will allow the Lynx to bounce back? This will be their second of three meetings this season, with the Lynx taking a 70-62 road win on June 30. At 14-3, Minnesota is tied for the most home wins in the league, matching the top-seeded Liberty, though the Sky are a solid 7-8 away from home.
The Lynx defense should play a big factor on Sunday. It ranks second in the league in points, giving up just 76.2 per contest, while holding teams to 41.2% from the field and 29.5% from distance, both tops in the W.
That 11.5-point line is a little too high for my liking, especially since Minnesota has only won by 12+ points three times in its last seven. Instead, we’ll stick with the total, which should be held down by a combo of Minny's defense and Chicago's offense.
Sky vs Lynx same-game parlay (SGP)
We all know Angel Reese is currently the league’s top rebounder, but her offense has a ways to go. She finished with 10 points against Indiana, and she’s gone three straight games Under her 12.5-point line set for Sunday. While pulling down 16 rebounds in her lone meeting against Minnesota, Reese mustered only 10 points on a rough 4-for-16 shooting.
The rookie has not shot the ball well this year and has shot 31% or worse from the field in seven of her last 10 games. That won’t get it done against a top defense like the Lynx.
For Minnesota, Napheesa Collier is coming off a 17-point, 10-rebound game against Dallas, but it marks the second straight game she’s stayed below 20 points (her line is 19.5 vs. the Sky). The star forward has been getting it done at home, breezing past her total in each of the last two contests at Target Center.
Collier went for a season-best 31 points on 12-for-18 shooting in a win over the Fever, a game after dropping 27 to go along with 18 rebounds in a win over the Aces. Since the Olympic break, Collier has topped 20 points four times in seven games.
