Opening line

Bills +3, Over/Under 55

Why the line moved

UPDATE 4:50 P.M. ET MONDAY: Shortly before kickoff, the Chiefs are up to -5.5 at The Superbook, after opening -3. Oddsmaker Cameron Coombs said the book has liability on the Chiefs spread and moneyline, but the total is also an interesting part of the story. After opening at 55 and quickly getting to 58 last week, it's back to 55. "This game is pretty interesting," Coombs said. "On a normal day, we would see strictly Over money from the public. But with reports of rain, we have been seeing Under money on the game, and also on receiving and passing yards props."

UPDATE 1:30 P.M. ET MONDAY: The Chiefs are up to -5.5 at DraftKings, after opening -3.5, and the betting splits back that up: Kansas City is taking 84 percent of tickets and 91 percent of money on the spread. And although the total dropped from 57.5 to 55, the Over is getting 77 percent of bets/71 percent of money.

UPDATE 1:30 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Kansas City opened -3.5 at DraftKings and reached -5 this morning while literally landing nearly all the point-spread tickets and money, above 90 percent on both. The total ticked down to 57 from 57.5, but tickets are 3/1 and money 4/1 on the Over.

UPDATE 8:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: Le'Veon Bell, released by the Jets on Tuesday, is reportedly set to sign with the Chiefs. However, due to the NFL's recently beefed-up COVID policy, Bell has to go through five days of testing before taking part in team activities, so he won't be able to play Monday at Buffalo. Still, the Chiefs on Thursday moved from -4 to -5 at BetMGM Nevada. "There's not much money on it, just the market moving," BetMGM Nevada's Scott Shelton said. For those thinking long term, the move did not impact the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs' odds of winning another championship, as Kansas City remained the +425 favorite. "We're already (basically) at 4/1, we can't go much lower than that," Shelton said.

UPDATE 4 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: "Some interesting action on this game," PointsBet USA's Patrick Eichner said. "We opened the Chiefs as 3-point favorites and quickly saw that bet out to -3.5 by sharp clients. Both teams are coming off a loss." Indeed, the Bills got shellacked Tuesday night by the Titans, 42-16, while the Chiefs suffered a surprising home loss to the Raiders on Sunday.

---

This matchup was supposed to be the Week 6 Thursday night game. However, it was moved to next Monday, because the Bills played the Titans on Tuesday night, in a game delayed due to Tennessee's COVID situation. The SuperBook moved forward with posting the Chiefs-Bills line, making Kansas City -3 in the wake of its stunning home loss to the Raiders.

"Outside of their destruction of the Ravens a couple weeks ago, the Chiefs have looked very vulnerable," said John Murray, executive director of The SuperBook at Westgate. "We haven’t moved off the opener here. I think people are hesitant to weigh in on this game, with so many question marks."

Opening line

Panthers -3, Over/Under 44.5

Why the line moved

UPDATE

UPDATE 9 A.M. ET SUNDAY: FanDuel opened Carolina -2.5 and moved to -3, but the line dialed back to -1.5 by Thursday and is still there this morning, with the road underdog getting traction. Chicago is taking 62 percent of bets/56 percent of money on the spread. The total is up to 44.5 from 43.5, with tickets running 4/1 and money 3/1 on the Over.

UPDATE 9:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: The Panthers went from -2.5 to -3 early in the week at DraftKings and have since reverted to -1, with play on the Bears backing up that move. Chicago is attracting 70 percent of tickets and 74 percent of money on the spread. The total went from 43.5 to 45, then inched back to 44.5 tonight, with 83 percent of bets/72 percent of money on the Over.

---

Carolina nabbed a 23-16 win at Atlanta on Sunday, while Chicago claimed a 20-19 Thursday night home win over Tampa Bay. The SuperBook opened the Panthers -3, and the first move was toward the Bears, as the line ticked to Carolina -2.5 Sunday night.

Opening line

Jaguars +3, Over/Under 54.5

Why the line moved

UPDATE 12:45 P.M. ET SUNDAY: The SuperBook's Jeff Sherman said this is a Pros vs. Joes game, with the public on Detroit and sharp play on Jacksonville. The Lions moved from -2.5 to -3.5, but are now at -3.

UPDATE 9 A.M. ET SUNDAY: The Lions peaked at -3.5 and are currently -3 at FanDuel, after opening -1.5. The Lions are attracting 69 percent of tickets/75 percent of money. The total went from 52 to 54.5, but it's two-way action, with 55 percent of tickets on the Under and 54 percent of money on the Over.

UPDATE 9:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: Detroit bounced between -3.5 and -3 a few times this week and is currently at the -3.5 opener at DraftKings, even though there's almost no money coming in at all on Jacksonville. The Lions are gettting 66 percent of tickets and more than 90 percent of handle. The total crept from 52.5 to 54.5, but action is two-way, with 57 percent of bets/51 percent of money on the Under.

UPDATE 8:30 P.M. ET TUESDAY: The Lions ticked to -3.5 Monday morning at The SuperBook, but Osterman said that was just keeping in line with the market.

---

The Jaguars got dumped on the road 30-14 Sunday by the previously winless Texans, while the Lions are coming off their bye week. That was enough for The SuperBook to open Detroit 3-point road chalk, and although the number didn't move, the Lions' price at -3 ticked up to -120.

Opening line

Vikings -3.5, Over/Under 56.5

Why the line moved

UPDATE 9 A.M. ET SUNDAY: The Vikings are up to -4 from -3.5 at FanDuel, with point-spread tickets and money running 3/1 on Minnesota. The total dipped from 56.5 to 54.5, though 65 percent of tickets/59 percent of dollars are on the Over.

UPDATE 2 P.M. ET THURSDAY: The Falcons shut down their facility today after a positive COVID test for a staffer, but Sunday's game is still a go. DraftKings moved the Vikings from -3.5 to -4 Wednesday, and Minnesota is attracting 79 percent of tickets/88 percent of money on the point spread. Vikings unning back Dalvin Cook (groin) missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, but there's been no line movement yet on the prospect of Cook sitting out Sunday.

---

Atlanta finally fired coach Dan Quinn, after Sunday's 23-16 home loss to Carolina left the Falcons at 0-5. Minnesota, meanwhile, gave unbeaten Seattle all it could handle and probably should've won the game, if not for a questionable late decision by coach Mike Zimmer. Instead, the Vikings lost 27-26.

Still, the Vikings are not in Atlanta-like disarray, so The SuperBook opened Minnesota -3.5. Per standard procedure, the line came off the board once the Vikes kicked off at Seattle, and this game will go back up Monday morning.

Opening line

Titans -3, Over/Under 55

Why the line moved

UPDATE 10:30 A.M. ET SUNDAY: Tennessee moved from -3 to -3.5 at BetMGM Nevada. "The public is all over the Titans," BetMGM's Scott Shelton said. "We have some huge parlay liability on that game."

UPDATE 2 P.M. ET THURSDAY: Tennessee boatraced Buffalo 42-16 on Tuesday night in a delayed Week 5 game, and the Titans opened -3 against the Texans on Wednesday at DraftKings. The line moved to -3.5, with Tennessee dominating early point-spread action at 91 percent of tickets and 92 percent of money. DraftKings lowered the total from 54 to 53 on very divergent early betting splits: 72 percent of tickets are on the Over, but 72 percent of money is on the Under.

---

The Titans are still trying to battle through their COVID-19 issues, and if all goes well, they'll host the Bills on Tuesday night. So the Texans-Titans line won't hit the board until after the Bills-Titans game.

Opening line

Giants -3.5, Over/Under 44.5

Why the line moved

UPDATE 11 A.M. ET SUNDAY: The Giants are down to -1.5 from an opener of -3.5 at BetMGM Nevada, where late Saturday night, ticket count was literally within one ticket. "But money is a bit further off," BetMGM Nevada's Scott Shelton said. "We've got a few more dollars on Washington, some sharp money."

UPDATE 9:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: New York moved from -3 to -4 early, but is now -2.5 at FanDuel, even though two-way action is still leaning toward the Giants. New York is getting 52 percent of tickets and 57 percent of money on the spread. The total dipped from 44.5 to 42.5, though the betting splits at FanDuel counter that move, with 87 percent of bets/82 percent of money on the Over.

UPDATE 8:30 P.M. ET TUESDAY: "The market moved from Giants -3.5 to -3 pretty quickly after we went up," SuperBook manager and oddsmaker Eric Osterman said of a Monday morning adjustment. "Then we took some sharp money on Washington +3 (even), so we went to Giants -3 (even) off of that play." The total opened at 44.5 early Monday and dipped to 43 within a couple of hours.

---

The Giants, who nearly pulled off an upset at Dallas on Sunday, opened -3.5 against Washington, and there was no movement Sunday night.

Opening line

Steelers -4.5, Over/Under 51

Why the line moved

UPDATE 11 A.M. ET SUNDAY: At BetMGM Nevada, the Steelers went from -3 to -3.5, but are now back to -3. "Ticket count is 3/1 Steelers, but the money is really close," BetMGM Nevada's Scott Shelton said. However, Pittsburgh is taking a lot of parlay/teaser/moneyline parlay play, so the book will need Cleveland.

UPDATE 9:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: This line bounced around a bit at DraftKings, from Steelers -4 to -3, then to -3.5, in a game that's very much two-way play. Fifty-two percent of tickets and 51 percent of dollars are on the underdog Browns.

UPDATE 8:30 P.M. ET TUESDAY: The Steelers are down to -3.5 at The SuperBook. "We took sharp money on the Browns +4.5 and on Browns moneyline +170," Osterman said.

---

The unbeaten Steelers (4-0 SU, 3-1 ATS) opened -4.5 Sunday evening at The SuperBook. However, the game came off the board soon afterward, due to the uncertain status of Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield.

"We closed this one when it looked like Mayfield (was hurt) late in the win over the Colts," Murray said, alluding to a rib injury that the QB said wouldn't sideline him this week. "Both teams have been impressive. Look for good two-way write here."

Opening line

Eagles +7, Over/Under 46.5

Why the line moved

UPDATE 12:45 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Shortly before kickoff, the Ravens are at -10 at BetMGM Nevada books, and it's a landslide. Point-spread ticket count is 3/1 and money is running 10/1 on Baltimore. In addition, the Ravens are on everyone's parlays/moneyline parlays/teasers, so BetMGM will be rooting for Philadelphia.

UPDATE 10 A.M. ET SUNDAY: Philadelphia is injury-riddled, helping Baltimore jump from -7.5 to -10 at BetMGM Nevada. "It's 6/1 tickets Ravens, money running 3/1. With teasers and parlays on Baltimore, that'll be a big decision," BetMGM Nevada's Scott Shelton, before addressing the total. "Sharp play on the total, Under 47.5. We went to 46.5."

UPDATE 8 P.M. ET FRIDAY: Philadelphia on Friday came out with a laundry list of players who won't play Sunday, including right tackle Lane Johnson (ankle) and right guard Matt Pryor (illness), along with wideouts Alshon Jeffery (foot) and DeSean Jackson (hamstring). The reaction was swift, with the line at The SuperBook moving from Ravens -7.5 to -8 and -8.5 on the way to -9.5. The total dropped a point, as well, from 47.5 to 46.5.

UPDATE 9:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: Baltimore opened -7.5 Sunday at DraftKings and has stuck there all week, despite the Ravens garnering 76 percent of tickets and 82 percent of money on the spread.

---

The Ravens had no trouble with the Bengals on Sunday, while the Eagles gave the Steelers a good go but fell short. The SuperBook opened Baltimore -7 Sunday evening and moved to -7.5 shortly thereafter.

"Philly looked frisky today in Pittsburgh, but that won’t deter the public," Murray said. "We will need the Eagles again next Sunday."

Opening line

Colts -9.5, Over/Under 46.5

Why the line moved

UPDATE 11 A.M. ET SUNDAY: The Colts opened -7.5 at FanDuel and stretched to -9.5 early in the week, but that line is now back to the opener. In fact, the underdog Bengals are getting 52 percent of tickets and 55 percent of money on the spread.

UPDATE 9:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: Indianapolis is down to -7.5 from an opener of -9, with Cincinnati taking 60 percent of tickets and 69 percent of dollars.

UPDATE 8:30 P.M. ET TUESDAY: This game is the biggest early mover, with the Colts already peeling back to -7.5 at The SuperBook. "Multiple sharp plays on the Bengals +9.5 and +8.5," Osterman said.

---

Indianapolis fell to Cleveland 32-23, but that was more respectable than Cincinnati's 27-3 loss to Baltimore, so The SuperBook opened the Colts nearly double-digit favorites. There was no line movement Sunday night.

Opening line

Dolphins -8, Over/Under 50

Why the line moved

UPDATE 3:45 P.M. ET SUNDAY: The Dolphins opened -8 and surged to -10 early, but have since dialed down to -8.5 at PointsBet USA. Even with that drawdown, Miami is taking 81 percent of tickets and 71 percent of money on the spread. The total opened at 47.5 and reached 48.5, then dropped to 46.5. "Sixty-two percent of bets are on the Over, but 65 percent of the handle is on the Under," PointsBet USA's Patrick Eichner said.

UPDATE 1:15 P.M. ET SUNDAY: DraftKings opened the Dolphins -8 and reached -9.5, before scaling back to -8.5. But it's all Miami, at 88 percent of tickets and 92 percent of money on the spread.

UPDATE 11 A.M. ET SUNDAY: Miami moved from -8 to -10, then back to -8.5 at FanDuel, though point-spread tickets and money are both running greater than 4/1 on the Dolphins. The total dropped from 48.5 to 46.5, though 62 percent of bets/60 percent of dollars are on the Over.

UPDATE 9:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: Miami spiked to -10 by Wednesday, in part due to New York QB Sam Darnold (shoulder) out again this week, and the line ticked back -9.5 later Wednesday. Ticket count and money are both running about 4/1 on the Dolphins.

UPDATE 8:30 P.M. ET TUESDAY: The total is the more noteworthy early mover in this matchup, dropping to 47.5 at The SuperBook by Monday afternoon. "Sharp play on Under 50, and the market has moved down even more since then," Osterman said. Also Tuesday night, the Jets released running back Le'Veon Bell, after reportedly spending the day trying to trade Bell. The SuperBook had already moved Miami from -8 to -8.5 earlier Tuesday, but that was more staying in line with the market. "Bell doesn't move the line," SuperBook risk manager Cameron Coombs said Tuesday night. "Running backs are not crazy important to the spread, especially for the Jets." New York is 0-5 SU and ATS.

---

Miami posted an impressive 43-17 road beatdown of defending NFC champion San Francisco, so the Dolphins opened -8 against the hapless Jets. There was no line movement Sunday night.

Opening line

Patriots -9.5, Over/Under 45.5

Why the line moved

UPDATE 11 A.M. ET SUNDAY: "Sharps are on the Broncos," BetMGM Nevada's Scott Shelton said. The Patriots opened -9.5, ticked to -10 and were at -9.5 Saturday when professional play starting showing on Denver. "It steamed all the way to 8. But the public is all over the Patriots, and the Patriots are probably our biggest teaser game."

UPDATE 9:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: QB Cam Newton cleared COVID protocols and is back in practice, expected to start for Patriots. DraftKings opened New England -9.5 and moved to -10, then back to -9.5, and though ticket count is almost dead even, money is running about 2/1 on the Patriots.

---

This game was supposed to take place in Week 5, first on Sunday, then on Monday. But COVID issues in New England booted the matchup to Week 6 Sunday. It's unclear whether Cam Newton will be cleared to start in the aftermath of his COVID diagnosis. The SuperBook opened the Patriots -9.5, and the first move was a full point toward Denver, with New England dipping to -8.5.

Opening line

Buccaneers +1, Over/Under 53.5

Why the line moved

UPDATE 3:45 P.M. ET SUNDAY: PointsBet USA's Patrick Eichner said Green Bay opened -1.5 and moved to -2 Monday, then spent most of the week at -1. However, the line is currently Packers -2, and Green Bay is taking 85 percent of bets and 86 percent of money on the spread. The total moved from 51.5 to 55.5 this week, before inching down to 54.5, with a heavy lean on the Over, at 89 percent of tickets/92 percent of money.

UPDATE 1:15 P.M. ET SUNDAY: This line bounced around a bit this week at DraftKings, from Packers -1.5 to -2.5, then back to -1, and today it's up to -2. The one constant: this game is all Green Bay on the spread, at 88 percent of bets and 91 percent of money. The total moved from 51.5 to 55.5 to 54.5, and the public expects plenty of scoring between Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady, with tickets and money both running nearly 9/1 on the Over.

UPDATE 9:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: The Packers went from -1.5 to -2.5, then dipped to -1 Thursday morning at DraftKings. But early action is heavy on Green Bay, which is taking 90 percent of bets/95 percent of money.

---

Green Bay is coming off a bye, while Tampa Bay was dealt a Week 5 Thursday night loss at Chicago. The SuperBook opened the Packers -1 and moved to -1.5 Sunday evening.

"I'd expect the public to abandon the Bucs in a hurry after that loss to the Bears," Murray said. "The Packers have been coming through for the public all season. We will need the Bucs."

Opening line

49ers +3, Over/Under 50.5

Why the line moved

UPDATE 8 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Los Angeles bounced from -3.5 to -2.5, back to -3, then to -2.5 again at South Point sportsbook. "The sharps are on the 49ers, the public is on the Rams," sportsbook director Chris Andrews said. "We're almost dead even on straight bets. Parlays are running to the Rams." However, with some of today's results – particularly the Packers and Patriots losing outright – a lot of parlays, teasers and moneyline parlays have long since been torn up. On the total, South Point opened at 50 and got to 52, then went back a notch to 51.5 an hour before kickoff. "We went to 52 kind of early, so we're not in bad shape. But we'll probably need the Under," Andrews said.

UPDATE 6 P.M. ET SUNDAY: The Rams went from -1.5 to -3.5 by midweek at FanDuel, but the number dialed down to -2.5 today, likely off some 49ers sharp play. The public is most certainly on Los Angeles, which is attracting 83 percent of bets and 82 percent of money on the spread. The total moved from 49.5 to 52, dipped to 51 and is now 51.5. There's two-way action, with 57 percent of bets/59 percent of money on the Over.

UPDATE 1:15 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Los Angeles is at -2.5, after opening -3 and going to -3.5 by midweek at DraftKings. There's likely some sharp play on the 49ers, but the public is all over Los Angeles, which is attracting 84 percent of tickets and money on the spread. The total moved from 49.5 to 52.5, then dipped to 51, though 58 percent of bets and 72 percent of money are on the Over.

---

The SuperBook opened the Rams 3-point road favorites against the defending NFC champion 49ers, who are struggling at 2-3 SU and ATS after getting boatraced by visiting Miami 43-17.

"The Rams are quietly 4–1, and the 49ers are a mess. If anything, that score today was misleading. Miami dominated them even worse than the score indicated," Murray said. "It’s really hard to handicap the 49ers right now. So many question marks. The public will be happy to lay the Rams here. This game may close even higher, given the schedule spot on Sunday night."

Opening line

Cowboys +3, Over/Under 54.5

Why the line moved

UPDATE 7:45 P.M. ET MONDAY: Sharp play at BetMGM Nevada books helped Dallas move from a 2.5-point underdog to a 1.5-point favorite, and combined with some large wagers today on the Cowboys, the book is definitely on Arizona's side tonight. One customer earlier today bet $115,000 on Cowboys moneyline -115 and $110,000 on Cowboys first half pick 'em, and literally a few minutes ago, another Vegas bettor put $110,000 on Cowboys -1, prompting BetMGM's Jeff Stoneback to move Dallas to -1.5. "Mostly sharp money moved it to Cowboys -1. Public betting is pretty equal on both sides, only six more tickets on the Cowboys than the Cardinals," Stoneback said. "But money is almost 2/1 on Dallas."

The total moved from 53.5 to 55.5 at BetMGM Nevada, and the first point in that move came Saturday, from sharp play on the Over. The public is now in on the Over as well, creating a 3/2 ticket count and 3/1 money difference, so the book, per usual, needs 'dog and Under in the Monday night game. "That's the case probably 15 out of 17 weeks," Stoneback said.

UPDATE 5 P.M. ET MONDAY: Despite no Dak Prescott, Dallas is getting public money at The SuperBook, and this line flipped from an opener of Bills -3 to Cowboys -1.5. "Our liability is on the Cowboys as of now," SuperBook oddsmaker Cameron Coombs said about three hours before kickoff. "The line has gone down throughout the week, but the public still believes in the Cowboys without Dak. We also have Over liability on the game." The total moved from 54.5 to 55.5.

UPDATE 1:30 P.M. ET MONDAY: This line jumped the fence last night at DraftKings, with Dallas now a 1-point favorite after opening a 2.5-point home 'dog a week ago. Arizona is still attracting 67 percent of bets and 55 percent of money. The total moved from 53.5 to 55.5 and is now 55, with tickets and money both running 3/1 on the Over.

UPDATE 1:15 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Arizona opened -2.5 and was down to -1 by Friday, where the line remains now at DraftKings. The Cardinals are attracting 68 percent of tickets, but money is two-way play, with 53 percent on Arizona and 47 percent on Dallas. The total rose from 53.5 to 55.5 and is now 55, with tickets running 4/1 on the Over and 87 percent of money on the Over.

UPDATE 9:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: Without QB Dak Prescott, Dallas opened +2.5 at FanDuel but is now +1.5. However, Arizona is getting 68 percent of tickets/57 percent of cash on the spread. The total moved from 54 to 55 Wednesday, with a heavy consensus on the Over, which is landing 78 percent of tickets/90 percent of money.

---

Dallas suffered a huge loss during Sunday's 37-34 victory over the Giants, as QB Dak Prescott broke and dislocated his right ankle, ending his season. With the Cowboys undermanned, The SuperBook opened Arizona a 3-point road favorite, with the first move to Arizona -2.5.

"No Dak, and the injuries are starting to pile up for Dallas," Murray said. "The public has been in love with the Cardinals for weeks. It will be weird needing Dallas as a home 'dog to Arizona in this game, but that will likely be our position next Monday night."

With a healthy Prescott, Murray said the Cowboys would've opened a short favorite against the Cardinals.
