Max Verstappen posted dominant victory at the Austrian Grand Prix over the weekend. It was his seventh win of the season and fifth straight.
As a result, Formula 1 odds have Verstappen pegged as the overwhelming favorite entering Silverstone Circuit on Sunday, July 9. That gap widened further after Verstappen claimed pole position after Saturday's qualifying.
Ahead of the full race on Sunday, here are the latest British GP odds, our pre-qualifying picks, and our best bets after Saturday's qualifying.

British Grand Prix 2023 picks
Race prediction: Max Verstappen to win (-400)
Now that Verstappen has secured pole position, it’s hard to see anyone else winning this race.
Lewis Hamilton, winner of seven of the last eight races at this track, will start Sunday in the seventh position and doesn’t pose as much of a threat as he has in past years.
And given that Mad Max has now converted his five straight pole positions into victories and has some historical career significance to do it again on Sunday, it’d be hard to bet against him to do just that.
Pick: Verstappen to win (-400 at DraftKings)
Best bet: Lewis Hamilton podium finish
Despite starting in the seventh position on the grid, Hamilton is a very tangible threat to climb on Sunday and find himself on the podium.
Again, Hamilton has a level of unmatched familiarity and dominance at Silverstone and the seemingly short odds for him to reach the podium may seem intimidating at first to back but this is a prime example of "the odds speak volumes."
Hamilton’s seven qualifying wins and seven race wins in eight attempts is the right side of history to be on.
Pick: Hamilton podium finish (+180 at FanDuel)

British Grand Prix 2023 odds (without Verstappen)
Week in and week out, we're seeing Max Verstappen listed as a heavy favorite and with him continuing to deliver, the value is being sucked out of the outright winner markets.
Enter the "Without Verstappen" market, where you can bet on the race's top finisher excluding the Red Bull superstar. When Max wins, that will be the runner-up... when he doesn't win, it will simply be the race winner.

British Grand Prix pre-qualifying picks
Max Verstappen to win (-290)
The first odds any set of eyes should veer to as of late is Verstappen's odds to take home the win on Sunday. -290 is somewhat in line for Max during this dominant 2023 season, with unnoteworthy movement having resulted despite being amidst a five-race win streak.
However, Silverstone has given Verstappen trouble over the course of his career, having never won at the track and only having reached the podium twice in eight races there. That includes last year's seventh-place finish after starting second on the grid.
But this year's Verstappen is clearly an entirely different beast than past years, as is evident by the near-100-point gap he'as put between him and the rest of the field in the Drivers' Championship standings.
And given that his odds to take pole position in qualifying (-250) are massively better than the next best (Charles Leclerc's +700), it may be best to bet this prior to the qualifying round.
Lean: Bet prior to qualifying
Lewis Hamilton fastest qualifier (+1,400)
A large reason for Verstappen's lack of success in the British Grand Prix has been Hamilton's absolute dominance at the track. Hamilton finished third in last year's race (from fifth on the grid) but had won seven of the previous eight qualifying rounds AND races there.
Hamilton has obviously displayed a level of familiarity and dominance that is more than worthy of more odds-related respect than he's currently receiving, given that he's +1,400 to win the qualifying round and +1,200 to win the race.
Verstappen has been a much more potent performer on Sundays than he has been on Saturdays this season (not to suggest that he hasn't dominated both), so the extra juice for Hamilton to pull off the upset on Saturday is a bit more intriguing.
Lean: Bet prior to qualifying
Max Verstappen fastest lap (-136)
These odds may seem short at first given Verstappen's dominance this year, but it is a bit of fool's gold all things considered.
First and foremost, as it's been previously mentioned, Verstappen has had his fair share of struggles on this track. Again, in eight races he has just two podiums. He also has two retirements as well as a seventh place (2022) and 15th place (2018) as well.
And Silverstone has now had five different fastest-lap winners in the last five races, demonstrating a level of inconsistency on that prop that makes these odds nonsensical.

Understanding F1 betting odds
The most popular way to bet on Formula 1 odds is by simply picking the winner of a particular race. Other popular F1 betting options include which car/constructor will win and whether or not a particular race car driver will end up on the podium with a Top-3 finish.
F1 race odds usually look like this:
- Sergio Perez +1,400
This means that on a $100 bet, you'll stand to profit $1,400 if Perez wins that particular race. If one driver is especially dominant, you might see a minus sign (-) ahead of that driver's odds like this:
- Max Verstappen -120
This means that you would need to bet $120 to win $100 on Verstappen winning the race.
