F1's Tex-Mex two-fer continues as the drivers head "South of the Border" to Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez for the Mexican Grand Prix.
Fresh off claiming pole position on Saturday, Carlos Sainz is now a narrow favorite over Lando Norris and Max Verstappen in the F1 odds, as we're just one sleep away from the Mexican GP on Sunday, October 27.

Mexican Grand Prix 2024 pre-qualifying favorites
You have to go back to 2015 to find the last driver not named Max Verstappen or Lewis Hamilton to win the Mexican GP (Nico Rosberg), but oddsmakers sense a changing of the guard is possible in Mexico City on Sunday.
Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris share the top spot with Max Verstappen in the early betting for the fifth-to-last race on the F1 schedule. Leclerc's best finish at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez is third (2023), while Norris' best is fifth (2022).

Mexican Grand Prix 2024 post-qualifying picks
Race prediction: Lando Norris to win (+225 on BetRivers)
This may seem bold on the surface given that Norris will start in the third position, but he is actually in a prime spot to pass up both Sainz and Verstappen given the sequencing of the Top 4.
Sainz will be preoccupied with holding Verstappen off, and with LeClerc starting behind Norris, Norris will have to push the pace to prevent LeClerc from getting ahead of him and into a defensive position. There should be windows to pass Verstappen and Sainz given the tug-of-war they will be in, and he will be able to attempt it with what is still very likely the best car on the circuit from an engineering standpoint.
He surprisingly finished fourth last week from pole, and it was just his third time failing to hit the podium in his last eight races.
Prop bet: Lewis Hamilton to podium (+600 at FanDuel)
If you're looking for a juicier prop to bet on for Sunday, a Hamilton podium is probably the best bang for your buck.
Hamilton has finished as the runner-up in the last three races here, and last year's finish was particularly impressive as he did it from the sixth position and beat out a Ferrari front row to get there.
He will start Sunday from the sixth position, notably immediately behind George Russell. Russell has had a spotty track record here, finishing just sixth and fourth in his two races for Mercedes.
Prop bet: Lewis Hamilton (+1,600 at FanDuel) and George Russell (+1,600 at FanDuel) fastest lap
Speaking of Mercedes and their track record here, they have been rather dominant on this prop in recent years.
A Mercedes driver has taken home the fastest lap in each of the past three years (Hamilton in 2023, Russell in 2022, and Valtteri Bottas in 2021). Granted, Bottas was a legendary driver and he is no longer on the grid, but there has to be more signal than noise here when it comes to Mercedes' ability to max out their cars on this track.
They might have a lot of open track between them if Hamilton ultimately fails to get a hold of LeClerc, as Hamilton's qualifying time was a full 0.235 seconds better than Kevin Magnussen, who finished seventh in qualifying.

Understanding F1 betting odds
The most popular way to bet on Formula 1 odds is by simply picking the winner of a particular race. Other popular F1 betting options include which car/constructor will win and whether or not a particular race car driver will end up on the podium with a Top-3 finish.
F1 race odds usually look like this:
- Sergio Perez +1,400
This means that on a $100 bet, you'll stand to profit $1,400 if Perez wins that particular race. If one driver is especially dominant, you might see a minus sign (-) ahead of that driver's odds like this:
- Max Verstappen -120
This means that you would need to bet $120 to win $100 on Verstappen winning the race.
