Dawson can't win in Oakland. He doesn't have "huge" rounds to begin with. He would have to completely destroy Ward to even have a chance. That's too bad, because Dawson imo, is the superior fighter. 

If this fight was anywhere but Oakland, I would be blowing a load on Dawson. The fact remains that even 8 very solid rounds from Chad might not be enough. That's disgusting, but it is what it is.

History ofttentimes repeats itself.  I rember how I thought Mayweather/Corrales would be a competative fight cause of the physical advantages Chico possessed.  The fact emerged of how utterly dominant Floyd was and is.  Same for Ward.  We see Dawson as for all intents and purposes, the superior fighter.  And for record I may put a small unit on him, the price is just too good.  But I would not be surprised if Ward just paints a masterpiece on Saturday night, like Floyd au Chico, to solidify his position as the next great superfighter, post Floyd.

there is a rumor started by jeff mayweather that dawson was recently ko'd by miranda in sparring.

i think that this fight may go the way of leonard/lalonde where the weight cut is going to adversely affect dawson, especially in the later rounds.

i agree that within respected weight classes dawson is the more skilled fighter.

And I forgot to mention the similiarity between Coralles and Dawson in their respective fights mentioned, in that both had to shed extra pounds to make the fight. Dawson may be drained to the point of malperformance, much like Chico was in his fight with Floyd.

That's been thoroughly debunked, as far as I can see. It's not like when Hatton was getting routinely dropped and hurt in sparring prior to the Pacquiao fight where EVERYONE was vouching for it.

dont know who to believe other than mayweather does have his own boxing website and has posted the ko on a sherdog thread.

fwiw, he has put a lot of time and effort into his website and him starting unsubstantiated rumors without an intent to profit would not make much sense.

who in their right mind would bet on the over or dawson if he was ko'd two weeks before the fight? chad would have to stop sparring and training for what would probably be no less than a week this close out to the fight.

He never posted the video. The closest he got to "sourcing" this was they were "talking about it in the Mayweather gym. He's trying to build credibility. A Mayweather trying to make a buck. No more, no less. He also has prommainsider.com too. What in the blue hell does that clown know about MMA?

No way. I read that thread too - nothing more than Jeff stating he wouldn't make it up. Also, you have to consider the game of telephone going on here...

If he was knocked "out cold" he wouldn't be fighting tomorrow. No way, no how. They would simply of made up an "injured during sparring" excuse like we've heard a million times before. Blame it on a shoulder, back problems, etc. They simply would not fight under any circumstances. 

Is it plausible he was dropped and hurt? Absolutely. However, buying into something based on a vague statement made on a thread where someone says they heard it in "casual conversation" is absurd.

Lastly, what type of sparring partner throws the type of bombs necessary to knock somebody OUT COLD. That guy would never get work again and basically destroys an entire training camp. To say it would be frowned upon is a massive understatement....

The only exception might be what Wolfe puts Kirkland through in sparring. Hell, his sparring has been the most difficult part of his career thus far.

Just re-read it again (assume you're QuincyK?) and still nothing other than what came from Jeff except for Glasser saying he "was out like a cold beer from the fridge" but he probably heard it from the same guy. Like I said before, if someone gets brutally KO'd like they're saying inside of 14 days to the fight, it's getting postponed or cancelled. Especially since this is a non-PPV fight and Dawson should be looking for a way out under any reasonable circumstances.

yes, Quincy k is me. i think that you took my comment of beyond a reasonbale doubt out of context. what i am saying is that the ko couldve happened. also, calling off the fight probably has serious contractual financial ramifications as much as dawson not making weight...because of dawson agreeing to 168. canceling was probably was not an option. and i agree that if he were ko'd this close to the fight this is very, very bad.

from the weigh-in photos i have seen chad looks solid and not weight-drained moreso debunking the theory of him being ko'd(he would not have been able to train properly coming off a recent concussion and wouldve had to break camp) by miranda.

fwiw, i think chad would be a -200 if this were at 175.

I don't feel the weight is nearly as much as the issue of Oakland. if this fight wasn't in Oakland Dawson would be exactly that - a 2/1 favorite. Why on earth Dawson conceded on the location is beyond me...

A legit injury like that wouldn't have any ramifications at all. Now is it was something that couldn't be verified, that would be one thing. It's just really, really, REALLY irresponsible if that did in fact happen and they allow him to fight. Especially considering the known dangers and the fact he IS the reigning undisputed LHW champ and all. 

If he was a guy in need of a payday, I could see the need to go through with the fight. Not someone on this level though. To be honest, Dawson is going to be VERY competitive in this fight. The fact that he won't get any credit is disgusting. The last thing boxing needs is to make an outstanding fight between two relevant elite American champions end in more controversy. Don't worry though, it will
