Oh and another thing I forgot to mention Cole's dad used to be commissioner. I don't think he is anymore, but this is just another example of Texas being at the forefront of boxing regulation and definitely the reason he continues to get gigs even with his awful track record.

Who would have been ok with that? There just isn't anything to say Diaz should have gotten a draw, let alone a win. Maybe, just MAYBE close scores would have made it better. I would still be outraged, but not as much. The audacity of the clown judge that Malignaggi was calling out to go ahead and fuck him is disgusting. If they EVER judge another fight, I'll be shocked. Then again, after tonight not much will be shocking.
The balls on that judge make me want to actually write a hand written letter to the Texas state athletic commission.
Exactly but in a 7-5 fight there were a couple of close rounds...I agree that there was no f'n way he lost the fight. Just google Texas State Athletic Commision I am sure they have an email address.
That was disgusting

I think he still is, Paulie said something about a Mr Cole before the fight when he hinted that he would be getting fucked out of the fight

Why in the fuck would anyone fight a bigtime fight in Houston, TX? I know that boxing is sucking hind tit, but a title fight in Houston, did they shut off Las Vegas for the weekend? The dude was robbed, and Diaz acted smug like he knew the outcome before the fight started.

The wouldn't have sold 3,000 tickets in Vegas. They stuffed the Toyota Center, and probably sold most if not all of the 14,000 seats.

Exactly walktheline- just what we watch fights for - the retarded wisdom of the marketplace in swampy Houston. I lost a ton of respect for Max tonight and Papa too. Lamps would have had some harsh words about the decision and Manny too.
I mean Paulie eats shit and concedes every single strategic point in the contract (ring, weight, refs, etc.), still clearly wins the fight by 1 or 2 rounds and then has to endure Max Kellerman's serving too? Fuck that.
Meanwhile Oscar and BHop laugh it up. You'd have to be nuts to buy a pay per view fight these days for $79.99.
Max said the truth though, the decision (forget even home town) goes to the more marketable fighter. Paulie is NOT a PPV attraction, not even a headliner. His style is not made for making big $$$. Paulie cannot punch, in boxing that's critical.
Paulie has never been in a "classic fight" Marquez and Diaz was close to classic.
Best Paulie has ever done was against Cotto.
When you you float like a butterfly and sting like a butterfly don't expect BIG paydays or the fans wanting you to headline the card.
Paulie won, but he knew and we all knew the outcome, same as Cotto-Clottey.. boxing politics, and when we finally realize and accept this it will be easier to digest as it will never change.
