Donaire v Montiel

Saw this posted with my local for the first time at Donaire -200.  I had been curious to see what the line would be on this fight, because I heavily favor Donaire.  When I saw that line, I bet it pretty big without even thinking too much.  Just looked at 5dimes and saw he's -220 there.  What do you guys think about this fight?  I just really can't see Montiel being competitive.  Even though he's been fighting at the weight for much longer, Donaire looked incredibly strong there.  He seems to have the body to carry 126 in the future.  He's got the height and reach in his favor too.  Montiel has definitely fought the better competition lately, but I think Donaire is technically superior and his last performance blew me away.  I also see this line moving by the time the fight comes around.  Thoughts?

I think under Danno. With 51 knockout wins between them, you can be almost guaranteed this will not to go the distance when they clash. I will be playing the Dog here, but wouldn't try to hard to convince you out of your pick. I will play Montiel by KO for small stakes.

Montiel has had some real quick fights of late and Donaire looked like a monster his last fight out so i definitely do not see this going the distance but I think fernando will struggle with Donaire's size.. gonzales was much bigger when he got the decision over Montiel, it was a while back but still could be telling.

Agree.  When I look at Montiel, I feel like he's maxed out at this weight.  When I see Donaire, I feel like he can still be a monster at higher weights.

Yeah for sure, he's gonna be a force in the higher weight classes with the right strength and training

Montiel's power is DEADLY. True KO power in either hand. He's a classy boxer turned KO artist. Donaire isn't stupid and will only go for the KO if he ROCKS Montiel. I know some favor Donaire ITD, but he's had hand problems in the past and Montiel is extremely dangerous and difficult to read.

Don't forget the Hasegawa fight. Hasegawa was on the lb4lb list at the time with some of the best speed and defense in boxing. Montiel fucked him up.

I like Donaire by unam dec.

I think donaire is too strong and too fast for montiel. You can never count out Montiel cause of his power but I really like Donaire in this one. -200 is a bargain imo

this is a very close fight, montiel is slightly past his best, while donaire is in his best years, I have a slight lean towards montiel, but will not be betting on this one, their are much better things to put your money on.

Wow.  This Danno guy has a talent for making friends I see.

I like Donaire as well right now, but Montiel should definitely not be written off.  Look what he did to Hasegawa. 

Montiel has coasted to some strange decisions, but I think he will be highly motivated.  Great fight.

The people who locked it in early got a bargain (mixednuts, luke, frank).  My book has Montiel +250 now.  I can freeroll for 1 unit now, if I decide this fight is closer than I originally thought.  Not leaning that way though.  As I stated earlier, I like Donaire to win this fight, and not sure it will be all that close.
