taken from another forum, posted by a lawyer who represents athletes in cases brought against them by sports committees (supposedly) No they're not, not even close. You give me three blood tests, tell me when you're going to give them, give me a urine test every hour if you want, and I'll take HGH 95% of the days between now and March 10th and you'll never have a clue. Urine testing doesn't show HGH at all, only a blood test will; and if you tell me when that blood test is going to be, I'll cycle off before you ever get a chance to see it in a test. The testing window for HGH is 72 hours; if I take HGH and stop over 72 hours before a blood test, you'll never see it in my blood. The idea that he doesn't want to be bothered is a non-starter here. A urine test is a far more invasive procedure than a blood test. USADA testers come to wherever the athlete is, test the athlete when the athlete is ready and it takes all of about two minutes to complete. The athletes are free to resume training the moment the needle exits their skin and they're under no obligation to immediately stop training (or whatever) when the tester arrives. Urine testing on the other hand takes more than two minutes to complete; a trip to the bathroom, being exposed from mid-torso to mid-thigh and the watching eyes of a tester while you do the entire process. Unless you honestly believe that having some dude stare at your dick while you piss in a cup is less bothersome than someone taking blood from you, then there is no way Arum's plan can be characterized as less bothersome. If time away from training is a concern, then there will be no difference between urine testing and blood testing. If performance is concerned, it takes about 3.5 hours to regenerate the amount of blood taken during a test and the athlete can resume physical activity immediately after giving the test. The only legitimate concern here, if you want to call it that, is psychological trauma to Manny Pacquiao from either needles or the sight of blood; given that he's a boxer, we're left with the former. If you think honoring Manny's fear of needles is a legitimate tradeoff for not being able to properly test both fighters for HGH, then that is certainly your prerogative. I'm glad that much of the sporting and scientific worlds don't see it that way. |

mcnut, the video just shows an evidence that manny is clean and is not afraid to be tested because he has nothing to hide. thanks for that. the main issue if you are not reading the newspaper is the duration in which the tests are done. the video of pacman being drawn blood is not during fight night itself, and thats what manny is trying to explain, that he cant afford to be less than 100% since he knows that being drawn blood from affects a fighters whole physicality and he cant afford to do it during fight night.
as for the lawyer, its not about being invasive regarding urine vs blood. why do you lose strength or are you affected physically and mentally right every after you urinate hahahahahahaha the whole point of this is the effect that it will bring to the fighter SINCE it is not a sanctioned test JUST a request by a coward opponent.

i think floyd did not know that manny would be taking his tactics seriously to the extent of a lawsuit... schaeffer and company are now trying to be soft on this issue stating, they will talk about a duration in which experts would suggest a cutoff that is acceptable to both parties and that it will still show "illegal substances" if there are any. i am guessing 3 days before the fight is decent enough for the the deal to still take place.
who is mayweather going to fight? brother of hatton? stop with this hypocricy because we all know how floyd conducts business. he invest in fights he knows he will win and does not gamble on fights he would lose. he knows his stocks would go down once he gets that loss and he does not want to do that because he still has a lot of opportunity abroad like for example hattons brother hahaha whom i dont even know his first name. so manny is not a worthy opponent for him while he will fight someone unknown. hmm... might as well face BOBBY PACQUIAO with him. at least thats a pacquiao mayweather too
