Al.Po. is my pick in the wanna be quality Tourney over in the Rhineland. Like S2 on the same card.
The Molitor fight is interesting to me, as I'm always a big fan of the Thai style of fighting. 3K holds nearly a 300% Experience edge, but Resume` is not far from even; go fig' on that? 3K is tough, and hard to stop. So I'll be looking to a Decision Prop line here.
The Miranda fight is intriguing to me b/c I'm wondering where EM is mentally after what KP did to him? HP Has a little Voltage, but tends to be beaten cleanly when stepping up. This is another long-shot that has me a little curious.
Moore I like, he's improved since a rather poor 2004, and has already beaten Facey.

My pre-lim (not a penny bet yet, so it's not binding) take is pretty split. JoeCal is a very accomplished Vet'. So much so it takes a really hyped Fight to get him 100% locked down and ready to roll. But that's exactly what this is. Dude has like 8,000 Title defense, only Reid kinda sorta messed with him, and JoeCal has never been in what I rate to be really deep water. (nearly) nothing but TKO's & UD's (JoeCal only has 2 KO's), except for the Robin Reid SD.
MK I had always thought to be o-ver-ra-ted. But he's actually improved a noticeable amount since, oh, say, 2004 or so & his last 2-3 fights he has been at his Career best. JoeCal has obviously gets my always favorable Lefty edge, but MK is younger, has a Size & Reach edge, & possibly a bit hungrier. But don't forget MK started out at 157 & went down to nearly 150, where he had a whole lotta Power.
Real close one, my pre-lim very mild lean is MK, but I need to see the week of fight articles to dig for some more 411 to nail it down a bit more. I already know I'll prolly outcome Prop Decision each side. HTH's.

Strange week with nothing but major chalk on the board. You know it's a weak boxing week when the lowest line is -600.
Out of the norm for me, but I am pairing a few chalky fights up this week with Guerrero next week. I don't think I will be playing Calzaghe-Kessler, too close to call in my opinion and that's when you know it's a great fight. Plus, I really want Calzaghe to win and I don't like to bet fights that I am very biased on. After this week us boxing fans are in for a nice ride up until mid December.
All plays and units wagered posted 2006 Results (March-July): +19.2 units (+$1,920)
Last Week: +5.48 units
2007 to date: +25.01 units (+$2,501)
Parlay 1.5 units to win 1.13 on: Castillo (-1250) vs Perez Povetkin (-600) vs Byrd Miranda (-1000) vs Porras Guerrero (-380) vs Honorio
Making a throwaway bet also, gotta have some dog action....
.30 of a unit on Facey (+775) vs Moore
Of course all signs point to a repeat Moore win, but UK dogs have been live as of late and I have a feeling about this one.

Went ahead and got down on a couple of futures also....
I bet Maske on points at astro-plus odds against Hill, but Arslan ( is a different story and I think is made for even an aging Hill and these odds are way too high. I also went ahead and bet against Ulrich on the same card, he seems to really be spent to me and is worth a play against.
.60 of a unit on Virgil Hill (+425) vs Arslan .40 of a unit on Barashian (+750) vs Ulrich
Plus I still have my posted future parlay pending the Mormeck-Haye fight in two weeks.......
.50 of a unit to win 15.98 (With cancellations now to win 5.36) Marquez-Vazquez under 9.5 rounds (-165) Caballero (-750) vs Lacierva Torres (+140) vs Holt Cintron (-1050) vs Feliciano (Canceled) Guerrero (-120) vs Juarez (Canceled) Ouma-Mora over 9.5 rounds (-250) (Canceled) Brahmer (-145) vs Veit Haye-Mormeck under 10.5 rounds (-170)
Hopefully the + number for the over continues to rise so I can get better odds on a hedge.

wow, you're putting a lot of money on a guy who cuts extremely easily.
I know that Castillo will likely win, but if Perez opens a cut with a
punch and the doctors later stop the fight, it'll be a TKO win for
Perez. And that'll be a lot of $$ down the drain.

Somewhat interesting to see CB at his lowest since 2003. I presume that means he's gonna go back to his hand-speed basics (if he now can got back to them that is).
I was gonna try an LOW. Liking Al.Po. to stop CB late, as CB has been opened up recently. But this prolly makes for a Decision play, really for either side. But I don't see one, so I'll check back.

Looks like the big dog had a lot of bark, but got bit in the end. Reading a bit on the fight it appears the fight was there for the taking by either guy entering the 11th and Moore the heavy fave took it in a hurry.

I agry on the EM LOW. Adding that. Nice call by BOXEO on the UP on Castillo last nite. I parroted that (from his site).

Glad you got in on that one Big! It was a fight where you could have gone either way (hence the odds) but I am glad we were on the right side this time!

I know! I can think of many less stressful ways to make $150.
Not very stressful. I don't know if you looked or not, but Fahsan has fought nothing but horrible losing records for close to the last 3 years, while Molitor has fought nothing but winning records the last 6 years. I'm surprised it wasn't worse odds. Easy money. Thanks for the good luck wishes Fullbright.
Povetkin wins -600 to win $100
Castillo / Perez < 8.5 -125 to win $100
Castillo -1250 parlay risk $500 to win $262
Segura -1700
Moore -1200
Molitor -1800
Povetkin -600
Castillo -1250 parlay risk $1000 to win $250
Povetkin -630
Castillo -1250 to win $200
Byrd / Povetkin < 11.5 $75 @ +135
Added Molitor -1800 $2700 to win $150
Nice +$950 to the bank
up approx. 4k for the month.
Keep the hate comin.

It's not hate, Snippets. I'm just pointing out that I'd prefer not to have to risk so many units in order to make a profit that's relatively small in proportion to the number of units risked. Great job this weekend!
