I dont know how many of you are old enough to remember Ali during his years of the rope a dope.
I keep hearing how many more punches Manny threw. Ali would let guys just punch and punch and his opponents would always throw more punches and more power punches but Ali would win the rounds.
Was that what Bradley was doing?
I AM NOT comparing Bradley to Ali, I just want to know how many of the punches were quality punches that Manny landed.
You have it wrong...Bradley threw more punches but Manny landed a higher percentage and connected with more power punches.
The first 4 rounds were exciting because Bradley had confidence. He was aggressive and was throwing quality punches. He wasnt landing many but they were controlled. Manny was able to counter those punches with power punches that were connecting. During those rounds Bradley was dominated and if the fight continued like that Manny wouldve knocked him out.
The 5th round Bradley changed his game plan. He lost confidence and wouldnt get near Manny. He ran! The last 7 rounds of the fight he ran!! Bradley was taking a beating. He was standing up right and throwing poor punches when he was in range. Manny was able to counter the majority of those weak punches with power punches to the head.
Maybe Bradley won the last few rounds because there wasnt much action. Bradley ran and Manny let him. At that point the fight was basically over and Manny had it in the bag.
Complete BS! I love boxing and Ive watched the majority of the main fights the last 20+ years. Bradley lost and he knew it. When you watch the fight you will see the result was completely wrong!

I am talking about the rounds where he just sat against the ropes and let the other person just swing away and hit him in the arms, body, and some head shots. Those were legitimate punches and power punches. But they were not effective even though they would have counted as punches and power punches.
You can throw punches and power punches and throw 100+ more than your opponent and they dont mean anything if they are not effective.
