okay okay.. relax dont bash but i really believe that manny has a good chance of beating oscar dela hoya. i know meeting at 147 is going to be a big issue but logically, one would lose more power going down to 147 (de la hoya) rather than going up to that weight (manny). manny has proven to be very effective gaining weight as what we have seen him do against diaz but is it too soon? another issue here is that oscar de la hoya as he has said has already cemented his legacy in the ring no matter what happens. is this a foreshadowing of what will really happen? as a promoter/fighter who is clearly more into earning big money i really think oscar will either lose against a stronger pacquiao or will just intentionally ( via not training 100% etc.) lose to pacquiao. one of the reasons for this is the fact that he and bob arum will earn more money if they let manny pacquiao win rather than destroying manny's popularity. is it just more fun to earn the same amount of money just sitting around promoting fights rather than participating in a fight getting your golden boy face punched? this is a smart move for oscar risking his legacy in exchange for more money when he retires. he is 35 years old and it is inevitable that he will no longer fight soon, so what i think he did was that he invested in manny pacquiao by giving manny the win that he needs that would sky rocket manny's career and purse in future fights thus giving bob arum and de la hoya the retirement package that they really want. and i will not be surprised if after this fight, pacquaio and coming of retirement mayweather faces off which as i have said, would give de la hoya the return of investment that he risked by intentionally losing or really losing to pacquiao.
odds 8/5 de la hoya... wow im sure people are pounding de la hoya this early i am going to wait until game time before betting pacquiao. of course de la hoya has a cut from vegas too... money money money...
i know i sounded like a know it all but isnt this a nice theory.
opinions anyone???

I've noticed that people either love this fight or hate it! Well, count me in on the side that loves this fight! This will be an epic fight of grand proportions! You have the best pound for pound fighter in the world fighting a great former world champion in Oscar De La Hoya. I think people have forgotten that Oscar fought Pernell Whitaker who was a smaller man in stature and was 5'6". That was a great battle and the height difference was not a factor due to the fact that Pernell was able to outslick De La Hoya. That fight was staged ten years ago when De La Hoya was in his prime and much younger. There was also the battle between a prime Holyfield verses an aging Foreman. Foreman had an incredible weight advantage of 48 pounds not to mention the height and reach advantage, yet this battle was one for the ages which was an incredible match from start to finish. The match between Oscar and Manny will be very exciting and much more evenly matched than many people believe. It is true that Oscar will have the reach and height advantage, yet their weights will be pretty similar. Manny came into the David Diaz fight weighing 148 pounds on fight night. People are saying that he will lose his speed at that weight, but did we actually see a loss in speed or power for Manny the night he fought David Diaz? I don't think so! Get the facts straight people. NO! Manny will not lose his power nor speed at 148 pounds. Watch the David Diaz fight with Manny and you will see that nothing was lost. The reach advantage of Oscar will also be minimized due to the fact that Manny is much faster and due to the fact that Oscar usually fights down to the size of a much smaller opponent ( such as his fight against Pernell ) Just my two cents.. enjoy!

I hate it Oscar coulda and shoulda fought Margorito but instead decided to fight Pacman who started his career @ 106 what a bitch move on Oscars part im not hating on Pacman becouse he is just getting that money and its a win win situation for him. i think this is a bitch move for Oscar who has prob as much money as Tiger Woods and to me he still needs to work on his legacy.
