In fact I like Jermaine a bit less now because he used being over weight as an excuse for his stamina woes. That is PURE BS.
Jermaine was a 160 fighter who moved UP in weight, so making weight should NEVER be a problem, unless you don't train properly.
If he would have admitted it is a mental issue and he's been working on it, I would have backed him a bit more. His fatigue issues were seen as far back as when he fought Hopkins.
See the last 2 rounds I believe of the first fight where Hopkins Catches him with a solid right, and what does Jermaine do? Back up.. like he did against Pavlik and at the end with Froch.
Jermaine is a LIVE dog, but no steal. I believe he matches up well against Abraham and we all know the outcome. Jermaine wins an easy decision, or gets knocked out. It's why he's a 3-1 UNDER DOG.
Jermaine wins rounds very decisively especially the first 8, given we all know Abraham is a slow starter, Jermaine should have the first half of the fight in the bag.
If his stamina becomes an issue, he wins up on his ass like Pavlik and Froch did to him.
Jermaine doesn't know how to HOLD or even have the WILL to fight once he fatigues.
I know Abraham's CHIN will carry over to 168 that's not the question. We know Abraham is a gritty fighter and has heart.
Can his power carry over to 168 who knows, but in this fight its all about Jermaine's stamina, and if you believe Jermaine's story about "weight" being an issue and that's why he had stamina issues I have a bridge to sell you :)
Flat out he has a mental problem, and he's fighting in another country hence the high odds.
If the end of the 12th bell rings, I feel Jermaine WINS in decent fashion. Only because Abraham's methodical style can allow Jermaine to rack up rounds and not spend TOO MUCH energy.
Remember it's mental, if you remove the collapse against Froch, Jermaine would probably be even money, but fact is he had an easy victory and gave it away .. when all he had to do was coast the 12th.
Anyone jumping on Jermaine please don't buy his stamina story. Bet him if you truly think he can win, also look at Abraham and then bet.
I'm not going to urge anyone to bet either way, go with your heart, but USE LOGIC. Remember Vegas aren't idiots, he's a 3-1 dog for a REASON.
If you can get past Jermaine's question marks, and still feel it's a steal then well "Perception is Reality", and you bet all you like.
Just throwing the facts out there, as much as I believe Jermaine has a legit shot at winning, I know he comes in with mental baggage that's your truly getting the high ODDS for.
Remember Jermaine always had stamina issues, pressure fighters exposed that.. and you need to see if Abraham can pressure him enough to wilt.
Please don't wager because Jermaine says the stamina was due to losing too much weight, that throws even MORE question marks into his dedication.
Think of Jermaine like a Cheetah extreme speed, but not for a LONG period of time., after a Cheetah goes 86 MPH for it's prey it either gets it or gives up because it doesn't have any energy left.
That is your Jermaine Taylor in a nut shell.
Good luck,
you know your stuff. You should come to boxing scene if you aren't already there
