Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Michael Katsidis

Question

I&#x27;m thinking Katsidis is tailor made for Marquez but Marquez is getting up in there in age and his legs/balance have not looked too good at 135. I think this fight will be similar to Diaz/Marquez I but Katsidis hits much more harder. Marquez should be able to catch Katsidis with uppercuts and I think Katsidis will come out even more aggressive than usual cause of the emotions of his brothers death.like Marquez by KO but not sure yet? Thoughts?

I think Marquez wins by late KO. I think even a faded Marquez wins here. I feel as tough a warrior as Katsidis is, he is limited at this level. I over rated Kevin Mitchell and lost a couple of grand on that fight. Marquez is light years ahead of Mitchell abilty wise and even though he is not the fighter he was, a potential 3rd fight with Pacquaio should give him enough motivation to win this fight. I will be playing the over. Both guys are teak tough and I expect a 10-12 round war with Marquez winning by late stoppage or UD points win.

The one thing not being mentioned here is the fact that Katsidis lost his brother. He passed away (RIP, may you be with Jesus in Heaven) and Katsidis is dedicating this fight to his brother. We all know the motivation losing a loved one can bring a fighter/athlete, and combine that with Marquez starting to look shot and I think this fight is a no play on Marquez and a small flyer on Katsidis.

DAMN... I&#x27;ve been studying these 2 fighters&#x27; recent fights and I&#x27;ve changed my mind. I now like Katsidis straight up. Marquez&#x27; legs are REALLY showing their age and I also think that Escobedo and Mitchell both had/have a better jab than Marquez. Mitchell probably could have fought better but he seemed intimidated by the occasion.&#xD;&#xA;Katsidis is not as reckless as he was in his younger days but when he sees the opening he still pounces on it with abandon. I guarantee Marquez gets ROCKED somewhere in this fight. He&#x27;ll probably survive because he&#x27;s great, but Marquez getting hurt will only make Katsidis stronger.

A decrepit Casamayor did him dirty baby bull got him. Diaz wasn't much of a match for Marquez after the 1st six rounds of their first fight. We all know Marquez stopped Casa as well.

Marquez is a brilliant fighter; remember he beat Pacquiao's ass more than once. Even Filipino ringside press scored the rematch for JMM. The only time Marquez worried me was how he would look [post-Mayweather] coming back down in weight. But he did it just fine and exceeded my expectations.

No reason to believe he's going to come in old on fight night because he hasn't been taking much damage. Katsidis losing his brother I think he be a negative for him due to the nature of the circumstances. I know Douglas lost his mom right before Tyson and stuff, but Tyson had a lot to do with losing too. Losing someone that close and in that way has got to hurt and hurt deep. Emotions are a bad thing in boxing and I think it's going to show on fight night.
