Matthysse +225: Anyone feel Matthysse is equal or a favorite and this is a great value bet? Only 3 fights in the U.S. and the last he lost a split decision to Zab late last year. The scores were Joseph Pasquale 113-114 | Hilton Whitaker III 113-114 | Waleska Roldan 114-113, but Judah was down in the 10th making it a 10-8 round. Views on how the fight breaks-down and will it go to the scorecards?

He'll have to stop him to get the nod in Alexander's hometown. Alexander has no problem holding, so I'm not sure Matthysse will be able to land enough big shots to get the job done.

What I do expect? Alexander to have some very rough spots if he gets hit clean,

Devon's loss was due to fundamentals and hardwork by Bradley. Constant jab and non-stop work for Bradley. My opinion, a big over-achiever with hardwork. Not overly talented, has great chin & stamina and gets the job done. Devon has tools, but needs polishing and more work on stamina.

I think I saw Devon beat Corley at the RJJ vs Tito fight at MSG in Jan 2008. I could check boxrec, but I'm pretty sure. Golatta fought well too, although I remember him & Bowe and I thought MSG banned both fighters for life after the low blows and riot. Maybe it was Bowe & manager Rock Newman who got banned. Foreman was standing up protecting both other announcers. Good thing there wasn't a puerto rican fighter that was involved, MSG could have had a race riot with puerto ricans vs whoever. You think Mexican fans are emotional, PR's are insane passionate. I don't mean to stereotype and label all, just speaking truth from what I see first hand experience. Clottey even felt he would never win decision at MSG vs Cotto, but that fight was so close. Cotto was cut and one-eyed but Clottey was worse with a hurt knee and could generate any power off it. Clottey hurt it early but fought through like a warrior!

    ZOUK,

Agreed on your accessment on Bradley. Yes, Devon needs  to work more on stamina and polishing.......but as much as hate to say this (because I grew up with his trainer and some of his St. Louis handlers)....it's time for him look elsewhere for a Trainer. Devon has the skills and the tools but he is missing that push to move to the next level and a great deal falls on his Trainer (Fight plan, ability to keep fighter focused and the ability to improvize with in the fight). Devon also shares some of the blame but hopefully with more fights and experience comes that step up a true upper level fighter.

I suspect that Devon will get some home town cooking in the final decision this evening but he will really escape with a undeserving victory today.

licialen: Agreed. There is a point in every athletes career where he needs a change. Especially boxing, it's rare to have a great champion these days start and finish without any additional corner help or guidance. Most trainers are similar, but several have there strong points and it's a good fit for the right fighter and often seeing a variety of different trainers helps a fighter keep or flame up that desire to get better.

I don't know enough regarding Matthysse to make a large confident wager. I do agree what I've seen Devon wins a decision at home. Matthysse fight with Zab makes me hesitate. The problem with Zab is he usually only fights to the level of his competetion. The only fight I made a lot on Zab was the Spinks rematch. Cory was an over-rated over-achiever with minimal skills. Speaking of Spinks, he won a unanimous decision in his hometown this evening against a sub-par fighter.

I'm not a fan of over bets because of clinches with headbutts causing cuts and swelling. Tonight is a rare occasion where the over is 8.5 rounds -275. Maybe a little to costly where enough isn't known regarding Matthysse with his level of competetion. He does have 26 KOs (TKO) out of 28 wins. That high percent even against bad fighters brings in more question marks.

I can't pass on Matthysse here.

Heart says Alexander by decision, but there's no good odds on him from any angle. Especially considering how bad he looked against Kotelnik and Bradley. I just can't lay any juice on him.

The fight's only 10 rounds, so Lucas has to start fast. No chance he gets a decision in STL. He'll either win by stoppage or lose altogether.

Matthysse inside the distance @ +240

Not impossible for Matthysse to get a decision in Devon's hometown, just if the fight doesn't have any dominance then the crowd cheers will sway the judges. I would have took Matthysse with the odds instead of the prop. iQon , Matthysse inside the distance was only +240 for you? Just a knockdown or so could win it for Matthysse.

Very rare having a 3 fights card on pay station with the main event only being a 10 rounder. Cloud was a championship fight and a 12 rounder. Speak of knockdowns, Devon down in 4th. Usually they call it elimination championship bout when the winner is contracted next to fight a champion. Remember also we are in MO, not California or Las Vegas. So each state is different. In Las Vegas sportsbooks, it's hard and rare placing a money down on a fight that takes place in Atlantic City. I found that out the hard way when Cotto KOd the undefeated Quitana. He was -230 at the Bellagio sportsbook but you could place a wager (lol). I guess it was just for show!

Apparently my Over prop won, and easily. The knockdown was more a flash then a hurt opponent. You never know when you get southpaw and orthodox fighter, it takes just one headbutt to stop it.

Wow... hometown decision. Maybe not, it was very close and could be viewed either way. Nobody dominated and I felt a close fight decision, so over 8.5 rounds -280 was risky but the best choice.

    ZOUK,

Can you say, "Home Cooking". Stamina issues and unpolished. Time for some change (Trainer).......No work to the body but got out worked to the body by a head hunter......

Until the change in trainer is made.......B-Fighter with low level paydays

I think everyone was in agreement Devon would struggle and get a very close home town nod! It was like we all could have wrote the story and had them stay home and read it (lol). Looked obvious, and I went with against one of my NO-NO's... betting and over laying more than -180. I was in a favorable spot, knowing it was 10 rounds, total was 8.5...if 12 rounds it would have been 10.5 rounds. I benefit from that and hope for no clashes. GL upcoming weeks, some good match-ups and nice props out there and I expect more even in MMA too!

     Robbed.
And one judge actually had Alexander ahead by 3 rounds even with the 10-8 knockdown ?
Argentine controls the fight practically from start to finish and was never hurt or in trouble in any manner.

Home cooking is one thing but well...lets put it this way.HBO did a good job covering up there true feelings. Letterman especially

This is the reason Im starting to watch more UFC.

Yes maybe the wrong fighter won, but did any really feel anyone dominated that fight. It was close, no one was hurt, and no scarring left. Yes in a neutral spot maybe, but Devon has a pulling so that factors into decisions. He has been popular and people been waiting for him to rise to the top. I agree with a former poster he needs new management and trainer. It's hard to let go of ties you had since you were a youth, but it's a business and it's best for Devon.
