Every year they been fighting Kentucky Derby Day... the BIG THREE for star power (De La Hoya, Pacquiao & Mayweather). This year Mayweather and Mosley fought on Derby day but not against each other, and now Manny fights on the Belmont Stakes Day. Coincidence? LOL Derby Day: 2006: De La Hoya vs Mayorga 2007: Mayweather vs De La Hoya 2008: De La Hoya vs Forbes 2009: Pacquiao vs Hatton 2010: Mayweather vs Mosley 2011: Pacquiao vs Mosley 2012: Mayweather vs Cotto
One more thing... 2005 it was the All-Time Classic (considered one of if not the greatest fight in recent boxing history)... as Corrales made a huge comeback to stop Castillo in the 10th round in dramatic fashion!!!
They seem to combine big fights in Las Vegas with major events such as the Kentucky Derby & the Belmont Stakes as those dates are predetermined way ahead of time. So why not get your average person to bet the race and bet the fight later that evening!
---------RACE RESULTS FOR ME BELOW--------- The results... strange as usual. Anyhow the best two horses (IMO) came 1st and 2nd, which was nice for me. Atigun who I didn't like to even come in the top five came in 3rd. I was lucky as a girl who has no idea the difference between thoroughbred and harness liked Atigun because the Jockey's colors were the same as the horses (LOL). She won more than I did and bet less. I had Exacta 3-9 that paid nearly $16 for $1. She had Trifecta Box 3-9-4 for $120 (3 way tri is a 6 way combo costing $6 per $1 tri payout) and won $4,960 minus OTB charges and now taxes.I played $250 (all $1 tickets) Exacta 3-9 (and $50 9-3) which won me $3,925 - $50 - OTB... no taxes taken out on me as I did $1 tickets paying $15.70 each. Yes, I have to account for the winnings and pay my taxes, but not until next March!
BTW- If anyone unfamiliar with why someone would (either they seen someone, heard about it, or even saw it on a movie or show) request 250 $1 Exacta Tickets, instead of just betting 1 $250 Exacta Ticket... it all about the taxes (and a few other reasons).
