Mora vs Mosley

Where the hell did the other thread go? Anyways, here is what I had written about why I am selecting Mora on Saturday..

1. Mora signed a three year deal with Golden Boy Promotions late last year. Why is this important? Because we can figure out why it makes sense for the promotion. Mosley doesn't have anything to gain in this fight or future fights. He won't be a draw on his own and has already talked about retirement.

2. Why not pass the torch to another East Los Angeles fighter that can headline local cards? Not only will Mora be able to do that, those cards will keep the Golden Boy fighters busy with secured fight dates and decent venues to fight in.

3. Mora is only 30 and would get his name brought up for top tier (read big money) fights against the elite fighters in the division with a win over Mosley. Exactly the type of signature win he would need to get the push for those type of fights.

4. It's on The Mexican Independence Day Bicentennial celebration. What a way to pass the torch.

In closing, all the dots are there. It's up to you to see the connection.

none of that shit matters because this is sergio mora were talking about, sergio mora, come on man! this is a fight not a conspiracy case against mosley. once the bell rings its man vs man and mora is not on the level of even a 38 year old mosley, I like mosley to go to the body like tony zale in this one and win a very comfortable un. dec against a fighter who if it wasn't for the contender would not be shit. matter of fact he still ain't shit in my book.

Mosley doesn't have the gas tank to go 12 rounds anymore. He refuses to let his hands go too. I'm also doubting his ability to give it his all at this point.

Mora will be busier and simply outwork Mosley. He's younger and hungrier. It will be his fight to lose, plain and simple.

If you feel otherwise I suggest you continue to wait on a Mosley wager. His number is dropping like a rock and I'm confident that he'll be sub -200 sooner than later.

I'm with you on Mora, walk.  Not for the reasons you stated, but I'm on him.  Here's what I wrote in an earlier thread:

I also played a parlay that I love.  Segura (+150) + Mora (+250).  This pays 7.75 to 1.  I think Mora is exactly the kind of guy that gives Shane fits.  Much taller and longer, excellent boxing skills, good jab.  I think Shane is in for a rough night.  Mora should be able to smack him around from distance and frustrate Shane.  I think Shane's age will show in this fight.

Mosley wins in rounds 7-12, 1 unit to win 5.12

I like your plays except I wouldv'e bet Mora by dec (He ain't KOing nobody). I see you hedged your bet but that puts you at risk of losing BOTH bets. With the Mora/Mosley fight either you'll look stupid or like a genius. I wish you good luck.

I'm HUGE on Alvarez ITD and the over in Ortiz fight.

With you on mosley 7-12. I dont see a really drained looking Mora going the distance.

I don't know. I got the +110 on Alvarez ITD yesterday when it opened up.

I'm not really with you on the undercard fights.  I know Ortiz has been a bit hesitant in his past few fights, but I think Harris is totally shot.  I think the first real punch Ortiz lands on him will hurt him.  I could see this being quick.  I can't get the image out of my head of Harris being headbutted on ESPN and getting taken out on a stretcher. 

As for Alvarez, I'm just not as high on him as everyone else.  Maybe he blows out Baldomir and proves me wrong, but I think it may be a tough fight for him.  Baldomir is impossible to move, and Alvarez is pretty easy to hit.  I think it may end up being an exciting fight.  We'll see.  If Mora wins, I don't care about any other tickets.
