My P4P List

I want to put a list up for comments..

1. Floyd Mayweather:  Easy No. 1, small arguments against this pick, but he leads on my P4P list, although not on my "most liked" list.  

2. Andre Ward: He's tough, he's skilled.  I liken him to a hybrid version of RJJ and Bernard in terms of styles.  Very adaptable.  Chad will be an interesting test. 

3. Manny Pacquiao: Tough call to have Manny this high on the list considering the "loss" to Bradley, a fight many thought he was robbed. Arguably unjustifiable, but it's still a drop from No. 2, and he still is a monster for his size. 

4. Sergio Martinez:  A super-fighter in every sense of the word. One-punch KO power, combined with a confusing style puts him high on the list.

5./6. Juan Manuel Marquez/Tim Bradley:  Couldn't decide who goes 5th, so I'll call it 5A and 5B. Marquez is a master boxer, and Bradley, well despite looking like the spoiled kid at Christmas to many, he still gave Manny a tought fight. I would love to actually see these two duke it out to decide who gets the coveted 5th spot. 

7. Nonito Donaire: I'd like to see him step up and fight Rigondieux. That would be the moment of truth for him. Nevertheless he is a super fighter similiar to Sergio, in an orthodox stance. 

8./9. Chad Dawson/B-Hop: Again, tough to put one in front of the other. These two could fight 100 times and would draw 20 times. I'm more open to B-Hop being this high as opposed to Dawson, but he's still a "Bad" ass, and he did win their match.

10. A Klitschko: I see Vlad getting a lot of credit P4P, but I actually think Vitali is the better fight of the two. Out of respect for the heavyweight division, I will include a member of the weight class, though I shudder to think what a 230 lb. version of any of the top 5 fighters on this list would do to either Klitschko in an actual fight.

1. Floyd Mayweather:  Agreed

2. Andre Ward: Too high for now. He is in a competitive decision that he appears to dominate, but the Dawson fight will decide where he will place.

3. Manny Pacquiao: This is dependent on the weight he fights at. If he were to fight 142lbs, other than Marquez who could compete with his power.

4. Sergio Martinez: Good place. Although many people on this site think he's a joke for the middleweight crown, I feel he has fought and proved he deserves where he is.

5./6. Juan Manuel Marquez/Tim Bradley: Marquez maybe a few steps too high, but well deserving. Bradley is over-hyped and a product of crooked boxing in order to produce useless rematches as they are severely lacking in top level competition.

7. Nonito Donaire: I would place him up a few places as he dominates top level opposition.

8./9. Chad Dawson/B-Hop: Dawson is in a correct spot. Hopkins is still elite at almost 50 years old, but I don't think he ranks top 10 any longer.

10. A Klitschko: What the Klitschko brothers have accomplished is incredible. The only negative is entertainment value. Vitali fights smart and uses that reach as he should, and late rounds the opponent is all done. I would prefer to still see some old school Tyson just bring it. Even Holyfield was technical but went to war and traded. Lennox Lewis I also enjoyed as he set-up fighters for the big boom KO! Vitali frustrates and is super cautious. Wladamir with his jab is a little better to watch as he sets up some nice combos.

Soul, all good fighters to say the least, and your ranks are surely debateable.  Thanks for the input. 

I do agree that my rankings can cause debate,  but for me p4p is not like ranking a fighter for a title shot in which it is all about accomplishment   it is also about if everyone was the same weight who would win if they fought,  it's about accomplishment for sure, but also about skill talent and who you think is the best and also in their prime,  this is why I have rigondeaux so high, as in the pro game he has not accomplished to much yet,   but I ask myself who can beat this man?  if rodondeaux was the same size as say jm.marquez or tim bradley or abner mares(who is in his weight class)  ridondeaux would kick their ass, has he accomplished as much? no, but right now he is the better fighter.   same thing can be said of gamboa that is on my list so high, because for me right now he is in his prime and I believe he is also the best athlete in the sport right now,  as for floyd second and not 1st,  he is great, no doubt, but has clearly lost a step over the past few years and is past his best.   to me donaire is in his prime, is one of the best counterpunchers that I have ever seen (and I have seen them all) and is dominating top opposition and right now I feel that if floyd and donaire were the same size and were to fight, I would bet on nonito,  the only question that I have about my list is if I rated wladimir not high enough, I put him at number 4, he may be better than that.

I agree with you 100%. Although one problem is weighing accomplishment against P4P ability. I tend to look at P4P moreso, but the only problem with that is that If I used that to judge a fighter I'd end up with a bunch of good small men on the list. Rigondieux and Gamboa are obviously the debateable members of your list, and despite being exceptional fighters, thier resumes are a bit lacking. Having Donaire No. 1 is not too unacceptable, he has the potential as he's very gifted, and he's beaten at least 1 or 2 very good fighters. But with Floyd still around, with his credentials and ability, very hard to argue another No. 1 other than he. 

This may sound odd or even like a pure contradiction, but those familiar with unstructured model theory may grasp it, or the average person.
Mayweather has faced big names, with big resumes. Unfortunately, the only fighters to ever force him slightly out of his element have been Castillo and Cotto. Mayweather dominates also because for so long he calls all the shots, and the allows a person to choose the environment in which he has the advantages. Also, the level of competition at his weight class is good.
Now to Donaire. Although many fighters have seem to be beaten easily as Floyd beats others, shows Donaire's dominance. Although his level of competition doesn't have the resume as the upper weights that Floyd faced, they have superior level of high tough competition in which anyone besides Donaire in the top 10 in that weight class can win on any day. That is what Soul is basically judging, and how Donaire increasingly dominates very tough fierce competition.
The bigger weights always get the bigger money, the bigger rep... but pound for pound, the lower you go, the harder each division gets!!! This is simply not a theory, but a fact.
I hope people don't get the wrong idea as I feel Floyd is deserving #1 spot, if he fought more often and not always on his terms for everything then it would be easier to rank.
To each is own... they are both phenomenal. If Donaire can continue this, then he should be considered for the top spot.

Does anyone somewhat follow what I'm saying? It is basically a paradox, or an oxymoron... however it does not make the fact untrue.
