The only box i know is your Dad, who allowed a bitch sperm to drip out of his tiny dick into your mothers blistered vagina. Nine months later, you popped out. The box gene lived on.

I apologize for the bullshit forum members. It just really pisses me off when people such as the moron who started this thread, makes nasty remarks about a fighter for no reason. If a guy ran around the ring for 12 rounds, crying for his mother, and begging his opponent to stop beating on him, he still couldnt be called a box.
I fight. Not for a living, but to keep up with my competitive spirit. Some nights youre on and everything goes well; other nights you feel dead, and just cant get it going. The adrenaline dump is ferocious at times, and nerves get the best of you. But never, ever, have i seen a guy step into the cage (or ring) and thought, "man this guy is a box." Its impossible.
If markdogg was unhappy with the decision or how Paul was performing, he could have expressed it as many others on here did. But he crossed the line in calling him a box, and it set me off.
Paul was, is, and is going to be one of my favorite fighters in boxing. You will never see a boring Paul Williams fight. He reminds me a lot of the late Diego Coralles (sp?) Lately, a lot of fights (ex. Pacman/Mosely, Haye/ Klitschko, etc.) have been snoozefests. Regardless of the bullshit decision, i bet nobody who bought a ticket to that fight, or watched it on television walked away disappointed. No way.
Again, i apologize. Not to markdogg, but to the others who enjoy this forum.
Take Care.

Parlayaday, you are so right about his work ethic, HOWEVER, how can anyone NOT make an adjustment to an incoming left. He holds his right hand at waist level.
I think Kermit is a friggin bore also.

paul william style was to keep going foward and his right hand will never touch his face because he likes going first punch with it. To be honest i saw the match again on hbo on demand and lara took alot of body punches i kinda see how the judges saw it lara landed the better power shots but the bizzer fighter was williams. I thought this was a real bad decision but after seeing it a second time it really was not that controversal like the hollyfield lewis draw. Williams threw 1000 punches and landed 420 lara threw 850 and landed 400. lara did land the more cleaner shots but nobody can argue that this was a close fight

Two things. 1) Lara outlanded Williams 224/220, not Williams 420/400.
2) No, there wasn't subtle body shots landing that made this a "close" fight. That's fucking absurd. "Nobody can argue this was a close fight." What the hell are you talking about?
EVERY BOXING FAN, WRITER, PROMOTER, etc. IS SAYING THIS WAS BULLSHIT!! Close fight, c'mon man.

People always go to extremes during fights with the "ooooohs" and "aahhhh" by Roy Jones on the commentary helping guide their opinion. The fight wasnt a total wipeout. Lara didnt dominate. But Lara did win. I had it 7-4-1.

Lara connected more shots, the bigger shots and at a higher percentage. Also, when Lara won certain rounds it was very clear, but when Williams won almost any of his rounds you could make a case for Lara winning any of them. There was a major disparity in connect rates, composure and decisive rounds won. We all know boxing is and has been the most controversial sport due to a combination of false rankings, bad and fixed (cheated) decisions and each states rules are different allowing for the use of bad gloves, illegal substance enhancers and any other methods legal or illegal to gain an edge.
The biggest factor was, is, and will stay is MONEY. It rules the world and sports are a part of the real world. A list of the largest sports contracts for players that include signing bonuses but exclude endorsements, buyouts and options shows that the New York Yankees tower over the competition. They have the #1 Alex Rodriguez ($275,000,000), #2 Derek Jeter ($189,000,000), #4 Mark Teixeira ($180,000,000), and #5 CC Sabathia ($161,000,000). That's why the NY Yankees are in contention for MLB's World Series Champs (They are also the U.S. all-time winningest pro team ever with 27 championships) every year. Paying those salaries, it appears they should win every year, but luck is a larger factor than appears (especially cause of injuries) to the public. Notre Dame's College Football home games have all been televised on NBC since 1991. Now before cable sport packages and satellite options this gave Notre Dame a huge edge when it came to recruiting (even prior to the NBC major contract) that they should have been in contention for the National Championship every year (again the luck factor).

Thank you for this. I'm really dumb and easily manipulated, so I always let Roy Jones control my opinions. Now that I have read your post, I know the real story.
