All plays and units wagered posted 2006 Results (March-July): +19.2 units (+$1,920)
2007 Results: +42.25 units (+$4,225) Last Week: +.14 of a unit (+$14) 2008 to Date: -5.43 units (-$543)
Hope everyone has had a good week. A lot of mismatches on the slate this weekend, but there are a few intriguing match ups out there.
Friday .75 of a unit on Anderson (+135) vs McIntyre I think that Anderson flips the script. He is the more talented fighter and while McIntyre did beat him very decisively I really think that Kevin overlooked him the first time. It was almost like he was lost at times in the ring, almost looking as if he didn't prepare very much for McIntyre's style. I actually thought he still might open up as a slight fave based on talent, so I am going to to take the dog odds for a bit. 2 units on TJ Wilson (Even) vs Walker I backed Wilson last time as a sizable dog and I am doing the same for the rematch. He has the better pedigree and has the mental edge now also. Apparently Wilson is 20-30 pounds lighter than last time and I have never thought much of Walker from the beginning. This ain't no butterball George Garcia and there won't be any need to a possible premature stoppage this time.
1.4 units on under 7.5 (-140) in Guerrero-Litzau I've had this tabbed in my futures for a month or so now, my thoughts haven't changed. I think Litzau is taken out around round 5. Guerrero is the best puncher and fighter that Litzau has faced. Litzau was hurt bad against Nolasco and put to sleep by Hernandez, his fate will be the same against the Ghost.
Saturday Haven't made a play yet on the epic 3rd chapter, if the odds keep dropping I am going to have to take the under. I may bet it anyway, that's what I bet in the last matchup as part of a parlay.

Added a two way parlay and a straight up play centering around the Powell under.....
1 unit to win 1.3 Powell-Finley under 6.5 (-150) Vazquez-Marquez won't go distance (-265)
1.5 units on Powell-Finley under 6.5 rounds (-150)
As I've said before, I always like to bet on Midwestern closeted fighters not lasting very long when taking a big step up in opposition. Powell isn't a particularly big puncher, but if he doesn't get Finley out of there fast he is giving him a piggy back ride across the ring.
At first glance of Finley's record I didn't think that I had seen him before, but then I remembered that I saw him in a 6 round sloppy brawl on the FNF where I lost on De Jesus as a dog last year in KC. I also ran across this gem during a Google image search, the one and only myspace legend K. Finley who happens to be "on a money making mission right now."

Hey Fullbrights, you're somebody's "man." (I assume he's talking about your picks, since you're on wilson, heavy on the powell/finley under, and heavy on cotto/gomez under)

Nice TJ weight cutting take. But where are you seeing that? That might sway me to try that, as I was just gonna sit back & watch otherwise. TIA if you can Fullbrights.

Someone asked me about “my man” in that thread, I explained I use that term
as a joke b/c so many guys have mysterious “man”s at betting forums. It’s
really “boxing cappers and analysts I respect”.
I don’t know fullbrights, I do respect his opinions
and his plays, as well as many others here. My comments and MJ's forums comments and plays are usually similar to the ones here. I think we all did great last week.
I browse quite a few forums and columnist sites when betting
and share them, I’d like to join you guys here as well.

Yep, it appears that I have to be the man he's talking about.
I'm a man, I'm 40!!!!! I use the Mike Gundy whenever I can. Best press conference of all time.
He referenced my other plays in the Marquez-Vazquez thread on that board also, so he posted all of mine over there along with their weights. May be an alternate name from over here, because I don't know who "night janitor" is. I correspond with another public poster on plays, but he doesn't really need my help and I know that's not him. Other than that I don't know who it could be outside of a couple of close personal friends, though I don't think they post on any forums. I'm here to help others, that's why I have done this for last couple of years on a public forum, so I don't mind. I'm already down on the plays so it doesn't effect the price that I get. Hopefully "night janitor" followed my 2007 plays also, because 08 hasn't been much to write about so far. Any boxing bettor is my bud too, so I don't mind the reference as long as they aren't killing the lines before I bet them.
Seems like there are some knowledgeable guys over there based on the few threads I read. Are you active on that site? The only other site I post plays at is Odessa's; I also post a bit at maxboxing and lurk at ESB for the round by rounds and results they sometimes have on fights I can't get from across the pond.

Hey, you must've been typing that as I replied lol.
Glad to see you're not upset. I post regularly at MJ, hopefully I've been some help to you there when you lurk. I also check ESB, but since it's a fan site and not a betting site, it's too biased. I remember everybody was on Hatton, but when someone started a thread saying "Who would you bet on?", literally 100% of the Hatton backers changed sides.
Don't worry about the poor start to '08, it's been pretty lousy for most of us, but the string of Jones Pavlik Klitschko and Barashian as of late has been kind. This weekend is tougher to predict I think. April should be good, I hope you got Clinton Woods while he was in the +ve.

The old simultaneous post. No worries man.
I see you didn't even give me the reference over there though, at least give credit where credit is due. Joking.
Welcome to Covers. It seems like there are some knowledgeable guys over there, I may have to join up. We have a solid base over here, but of course more come out for the larger fights. Feel free to reference this thread over there though because it appears a few people wanted to know more about Finley, it may help them.

I had read online in a local paper of his that he was probably going to be about 20-30 pounds lighter, so that is where I got that. It turns out he was actually 19 pounds lighter this time. They had the weigh in results along with pics yesterday at fightnews.

I mostly just post here, but I do lurk on the boxrec betting forum (that's where I found a link to MJ recently). I thought it was mad funny that everyone thought TonyMontana's "man" is some mysterious sharp, when actually he's quite accessible and obvious (hint: he operates his own site). And I cracked up this morning when I saw N_J's "man" reference, and it turned out to be the great Fullbrights. It's good you're getting recognition for your boxing betting IQ, as you're definitely an excellent capper.
Sucks that Anderson just lost a UD to McIntyre. Close, boring fight. Anderson appeared to have McIntyre in trouble in the 9th, but it was a little late in the round, and McIntyre recovered during a hold. I started watching at the end of round 5, so I'm not the best person to judge the fight, but Anderson took at least 4 of the last 7 rounds. The 117-112 scores seemed a little off. McIntyre really wasn't doing shit in the last 5 rounds, and they were so close that I thought you had to give it to the guy pressing the action (Anderson).

Thanks for the welcome, I'm glad to be here.
I didn’t post your name since it may be interpreted as a
cop-out. I used “my man” so I don’t take
credit if it wins, but didn’t give a specific name so I’d take the heat if the play loses, rather than shifting blame to you without your permission.
I posted a reference to you at MJ, I can reference your name
in the future if you’d prefer.
btw have you looked into SopCast? I used to follow ESB RBR as well, but have been able to get pretty much every big fight for free since I started on sopcast, even the PPVs. Decent enough quality most of the time. There is a site that costs 7$/month that provides high quality boxing feeds. Can't remember the name at the moment.

Sounds like tonymontana's man may be a tout. That's a tough business I'm sure, especially if you just do boxing, maybe if you did MMA the audience would be worth it.
Any solid guys over at boxrec? I have never really taken a long look at that forum, I thought it was more of a fan forum last time I lurked around. If I am going to go to a fan forum and look around I like max, there are some funny topics over there in the other stuff section.
I don't do it for the recognition more so to spread what I consider a helpful opinion.
Yep.....
.75 of a unit on Anderson (+135) vs McIntyre Reading ESB it seems like it was a pretty close tilt and the two 117-112 cards were plain wrong. What did the other card read? It was worth a stab, better performance it would seem by Anderson. I still think he is the more talented fighter. Boy, these fighters were headed in two different directions before their 1st matchup; now Anderson finds his career at a crossroads on the domestic level at the age of 24 and McIntyre's career is resurrected. I guess Jennings would be the next logical matchup for him.

Nah, you don't have to call me by name. I just thought it might be helpful in this instance to reference the thread since it appeared a couple of those guys didn't really know much about Finley. I was mainly just saying don't hesitate to refer the guys over here if there are questions that I answered. Seems like a nice site. I might start looking at the site some and posting here or there. I will probably hesitate from posting verbatim there because it is just redundant to do that. Covers will always be my home base.
Never used sopcast. I use streamtvnow, which I believe is the site you are referring to mainly for the German cards and the PPV's I don't really feel are worth supporting. I don't mind popping for a PPV at all if I feel it's PPV worthy, but sometimes my hand is forced if people want to come over; it's kind of hard to gather around a computer and definitely not much fun.

Well, I did something today that I hardly ever do; I played two outcomes on a fight. I don't see how in the world we see a distance fight, Raffy and Izzy only know how to fight each other one way.
The first two fights had to have taken something out of each, I will be shocked if this sees the final bell. Logic says that Izzy wins ITD again, he has been the one that has done the serious damage, but Marquez has buzzed Vazquez and definitely busted him up structurally. I think there is some value in Marquez ITD, so I set up what I consider a free roll on such. I already parlayed the will not go the distance with the Powell under as stated above. I thought about going with 2 units, but went with a c-note since I already played the "will not", may change my mind though if tonight is very good.
1.06 units on Vazquez ITD (-106) 1 unit on Marquez ITD (+302)
