My belief is Floyd could have been one of the greats, but his lack of fighting and not fighting the high profile fights will doom him forever.

Pac-man fights Floyds left overs after he's dismantled them and are washed up.. comparing how they did against common opponents makes no sense because their styles are different.

Also Floyd fought Oscar at 154 not 147 and Oscar looked ILL NO ONE can deny that. Freddie Roach is even on video saying he knew Oscar was severely dehydrated (he saw track marks on his arms).

Hatton was now a defeated fighter who hit the whiskey bottle after that loss.

And to be fair to Pac-man you cannot compare the Marquez he fought versus the one Floyd did.

Marquez cannot carry that weight he is super slow at 147 he looks like an old man! So the win for Floyd is really no big deal... he hs a bloated 130 pound fighter in front of him. Basically a sparring session.

When Pac-man fought Marquez they were even .. weight and everything.

I'd prefer to see Marquez/Pacman at 140 than Mosley who has looked bad for many outings,

Marquez has earned this shot he's been chasing Pac-man for years... at least you know he won;t take a lay down and he will go out on his shield.

Both guys Pac-man and Floyd could of been greats but they have BOTH chosen paths (MONEY) instead of fighters who give them a real challenge.

I know it's a business... but some how all the other greats fought the best and made money too why can't these two guys do it?

Ever since moving up weights he's been fighting a bunch of nobodies after Floyd beat them.

Look at the lines on Pac-man's fights. -800 or so for the past few years.


I believe Manny's style will carry more fans over when he retires than Floyd.  He has a more pleasing style for many fight fans.

For the true boxing fans Floyd's boxing ability was bar none amazing defense, great foot work, counter puncher, he had it all.

Both will go to the hall of fame, personally if they don't fight each other I'm putting them in the hall of shame.

Roach told me that as Mosley went the full 12 rounds with Mayweather it would send out a statement if Pacquiao wins this fight on a stoppage. “He wants everyone to know who the best fighter in the world is,” Roach said — and there would be no better way to do this than by becoming the first to halt Mosley.
