Upcoming fights..

Guys I am taking a month long R&R to the turks and Caicos so I won't be posting much. I will be playing the next 5 big fights but not much.

I will be playing Andre Dirrell to win on points. I am so NOT confident on this bet. The reason being I seriously question Andre Dirells mental toughness. He comes across a scared little kid to me. King Authur is one of the toughest nuts to ever lace a pair of boxing gloves. With his peak a boo defense hard hitting with both hands and mental toughness I really should plough into him to beat a scared Andre Dirrell but I am not going to. When I look at the boxing fundamentals of this fight I can see great value in Andre Dirrell. These being...

1) He is at home..AA Never fought thus good a fighter outside of Germany.

2) It is a must win fight, if he losses his super 6 and potentially his career are over (really before it began)..

3) His style is perfect on paper for AA. Stick and move. Throw punches at angles to pick apart the peak a boo defense. Mixing it up with hard combinations to the body..

I thought Taylor had good success early before he gassed. Dirrell wont gas. I am convinced if the Froch fight happened in America, Direll gets tghe decision, so he is not going to have to change tactics a whole lot and I think these tactics will work a treat against AA. So in this fight I am picking Andre Dirrell on Points...

Haye v Ruiz. For me Haye on points. I don't think either man has the power to stop the other. Think it will be pretty close too, with Haye getting the hometown decision. For me Haye on Points.

Will put a double on Pavlik and Bute, Should come to about evens..

I would be most confident on the Haye pick..The rest will be low stakes..See you guys soon and good luck with your plays

rich GREAT point about Dirrell. For those reasons I am not confident on the pick and no way I would bet alot of money on a guy like Dirrell.

McNulty, Turks and Caicos are islands about 1 hour away from Miami, maybe a bit more. I am staying in a place called Grace bay..Not bad

McNulty I think Gamboa is the real deal and I wouldn't expect a minutes worry in that one. I think B-Hop will be too much for RJJ in a snoozefest. RJJ will have to make the pace and suits b-Hop down to the ground, his reflexes are shot to pieces and I think B-Hop wins easy here.

I agree with Rich I could never bet a guy like Danny Green. Maybe throw in Lucian Bute somewhere. No way he will lose to Edision Miranda

I think Rich you make great points on Andre Dirrell. I have a funny feeling after the fight, I will be saying to myself what the hell was I thinking backing Dirrell. I too question Dirrells chin, his mental toughness and most of all his heart. I have no such questions over Abraham. I actually like AA and in my Pre super six predictions, I picked both himself and Andre Ward to be in the final. So why back against him now?. I just have a hunch this is a potential banana skin for AA and that Dirrell has the kind of style and skills to make this very awkward evening for AA. Remember Direll for all his faults should IMO still be undefeated going into this fight. If he was, his odds would not be as appealing as they are right now. I also have to think that the Froch fight bought this guy on a ton.

I agree mostly with Vivek Wallace on Eastside boxing (best boxing website on the Net IMO) who says "The trend so far in the tournament is that the hometown fighters have each gotten the nod. The reason that I don't think this 'hometown victory' trend will continue in this fight is because the man who will be on the road this time will also be the only one of the group with the ability to remove judges from the equation, taking things into his own hands....literally. Abraham has a strong defense, great stamina, and thunderous power, but considering that it took 12 rounds to knock Jermain taylor out, I'm not so sure that he'll KO Dirrell. That being said, Dirrell has shown stamina issues at points in the past and that could place him in immediate danger against someone like Abraham. The wildcard here is that Andre Dirrell has great speed and sufficient power himself. If he can find a way to penetrate that defense of Abraham and get him to open up a bit, things could get interesting.

In the end, I like Abraham to win, but I think Dirrell is a very live underdog, and if he finishes the fight on his feet, I wouldn't rule out his chances of a points win. I'm looking forward to this fight more than any other this week coming up, and I don't think fight fans will be disappointed when it's all said and done"

I am basically playing Dirrell because I believe in this fight he is the value play. I would be amazed if this isn't really close after 8 /9 rounds and I would rather have + 200 then sweating on -300.

AA should pull through and do enough in the end to get the W but not everything in boxing plays out as it should. I have a hunch for Dirrell and I am playing on that hunch. I just recommend maybe people fade me on this one..

Well thats one down. Took Dirrell to win and a saver on points so that was disappointing not to hit too. Makes the cocktails go down easier though Andre winning. Next up Haye Ruiz. Haye on Points for me.

Dirrell hhmmmm That punch he took shortens careers..Ward v Dirrell will be a cracking fight, providing he can come back from that Punch. That was shocking to watch. I hope he is ok...

I bet Dirrell and it was an obvious acting job. I'll take the win, but I think the kid will always look back at this fight and wish he made a better decision.

AA should have had a point take and boxing fans should have gotten to see the rest of the fight. The whole fight was comical to be honest, them looking at the cut like they were seriously considering stopping it was a joke too. That cut was nowhere near worthy of a stoppage. I'm just gonna take my money and snicker at the acting performance by Dirrell.
