Vasquez Marquez

This fight is a true toss up for me but I slightly favor Marquez.

Vasquez has been trying to be more defensive as of late, but I honestly feel he's better off in slugger mode (especially versus Marquez). "Don't try to outbox a boxer."

These guys are fighting at 126 not 122. The move up in weight favors Marquez because he's a more naturally heavy puncher and he'll be able to take a punch better(Marquez' chin is his biggest weakness) without having to dehydrate himself.

Some might say not having Beristein in his corner will hurt Marquez, but I've always felt Beristein was the most overrated trainer. I respect his ring style, knowledge, and advice, but he doesn't even hold handpads. As a matter of fact, his mittman, Zaragoza is now the official trainer of Marquez. Zaragoza of course is a former champ who trained under Beristein so their really is no style change.

I haven't seen any odds on this fight, but I'm going with Marquez. Depending on what the over/under is I'll probably end up picking the over. I won't bet big though. You shouldn't either. Vasquez has a lion heart and Marquez is chinny. Plus neither fighters' legs are what they used to be.

I don't even care about betting on this fight, as it's not only a toss up IMO, but this is the best argument to "sit back and enjoy it" in the sport since the last one

Yea Freddie advised Vasquez to hang it up, although not sure if he was slurring during this speech...maybe that is why Vasquez ignored his advice and continues on.

Interesting with the eye ---i hadnt thought of that. I definitely think Marquez is much more precise of a puncher and vastly technically superior. It's just the heart of Vasquez. Will end up going lightly on Marquez and definitely looking forward to this fight saturday

Just saw Vazquez @ -150 and Marquez @ +120.  O/U set at 9.5.

Undercard fight is -115 each way.  I like Perez a lot in that fight.

danno you are second person i have seen say they really like perez. just locked him in at -115, i'll have many drinks in me by that time and look forward to the card.

Danno why are you so big on Perez?I like his workrate and underrated technique but Mares is undefeated and he is a dedicated bodypuncher with decent head movement. Risky play in my mind. I take back what I said about playing the OVER on the Marquez-Vasquez fight. Its at 9.5. I thought it would be more like 7.5. I do however like the over on the Mares-Perez fight. I've never seen either of these fighters have their will broken.

Both Mares and Perez can box well. They fought versus each other 3 times in the amatuers and were once sparring partners. I don't think -185 is steep for the over.

im pounding perez big time.........to take abekos  punches like he did, perez is a gamer...mares is another golden boy prospect and there line are always inflated. perez should at least be a -250 favorite in my opinion as mares has done  nothing to prove he is at the same calibar.

I'm taking Vazquez +10 pts handicap (KO in a winner) at -115.

I couldn't help myself was watching the trilogy on showtime and decided to bet it even though I said I wouldn't.

My initial take was ITD but no line was posted now I see it -240 that's too high.

I went with Vasquez because in all 3 fights he was the stronger guy better chin and comes on strong as the fight goes on, where as Marquez starts out great and his leg don't look as good in the mid-late rounds.

I think Vazquez takes him out, and if he doesn't I have 10 points to play with. (Not like it matters because I feel a KO(for either guy is a good possibilty) if Vasquez gets stopped it will be because of cuts but still a ko/tko if caused by a punch.

Hard fight to really guage because after 3 wars .. what do these guys have left.
