Both have fought weak competition. Mayweather performs with dominance and a natural defensive master. Ortiz is an super athletic strong guy, but is lacking in defense and timing. Also, if you watched Gamboa, they mentioned Ponce needed great timing to compete and that's Floyd has just liked after a few rounds with Mosley he anticipated every punch from Mosley, and even though Mosley is older he is very fast and strong. Unfortunately Mosley is a pure counter puncher not a traditional boxer and he was shut down fast. Oscar was over the hill but gave Floyd difficulty because his long strong jab, and for those who don't know Oscar is a natural southpaw but was trained orthodox and he destroyed everyone at lightweight and maybe one of the best lightweights ever with his speed, size and strength. Oscar won fights with a jab and the body left hook, but when he moved up he lost speed and carried no strength, and all his fights were close except for Hopkins which was a hype and he was too small physically.
Back to Ortiz, even is he is faster and stronger (which I doubt), a boxing technician with any skill will with pick a medicre boxer apart. Remember Manny with bad footwork and mostly one handed was dominated by an older, slower, weaker but master boxer named Morales. Look what Morales did to Maidana and exposed he is just a slugger (Khan beat Maidana as expected). This shows Ortiz tried to go punch for punch with a slugger (Maidana) and Berto hit him with bombs because he left himself so exposed (lucky for him Berto has no real KO power; and Berto was rated #4 pound-for-pound and I agree with thesoulpurpose he was media creation after watching him live twice).
If Ortiz had better training and more experience he has the physical skill and appears to be intelligent which could make him a pound for pound best. The Berto fight he took chances that were not needed, he could have won just with his jab and 2-3 combos because Berto would have been worn down late. Instead he got floored twice and gave Berto a psychological chance as where he could have just shut him down with good fundamentals being the much stronger fighter.
I stated before, Mayweather pounced for this fight because Ortiz doesn't have the ring experience and boxing fundamentals. Yes this will be the most talented athlete Mayweather has fought, but Mayweather is just on a way higher level.

zab judah is the best athlete that floyd has ever fought, sharmba mitchell is no slouch either,   suprised you used the word athlete to describe ortiz,  I would say that he is an average athlete, a B-  on his best day, zab might even be a better athlete than floyd, but obviously not close to floyd in the skill department.   alot of people are talking about ortiz bum rushing floyd,  but the thing with that is that floyd is a much better inside fighter than ortiz, on the inside floyds defence is the best in the game, I do not see ortiz being able to land anything cleanly on the inside, or the outside for that matter, the only shot ortiz has is at mid range, while he(ortiz) is coming in, but even there he will have a very tough time landing cleanly, this is simply not a good fight for ortiz, the media and mayweather haters are making this fight sound much closer than it really is,  what is it really? a mismatch as well as a tune up fight for floyd

My point about Ortiz is all his punches have power and his jab. He is much stronger physically than anyone Floyd has fought. Yes Zab is a super athlete, but people believe he has one punch KO power and that's not true. As you know as a boxer it's the punch you don't see and Judah use to be good at timing those shots. If any warfare, deception trumps speed. Accuracy trumps power. Anticpication trumps athleticism. If you were in a street and were much slower than your opponent, you want to suprise him either by engaging him when he doesn't expect it or before the hype begins. KO power is like a gun, it changes the opponents fight you making them hesitant, but without accuracy no damage is done. Anticipation is the mark of a great fighter, quarterback, (futbol) soccer striker. Take Larry Bird he wasn't a physical specimen but he knew what you were going to do before you do. That's pure Sun Tzu strategy! Mayweather will go with timing jabs after Ortiz throws and will keep Ortiz moving clockwise and Mayweather will throw the left hook. Not much body work for Mayweather early as Ortiz will have his face wide open. Mayweather will pace 4 rounds then around the 7th start the endning. My point was Ortiz is a much stronger physical fighter than Judah. Now that would be a smarter fight for Ortiz to fight Judah and see where he is.

USC + 3.5 at home vs syracuse, one of the strangest lines that I have seen in a while, I will hammer USC although in situations like this it usually goes the opposite way that seems logical, meaning a cuse win, I simply do not see that happening though,   USC +3.5 big

There is NO value in betting Ortiz. This guy drew a fight with Lamont Peterson! He is no where near Floyd's league. Floyd could have 10 years off and still beat Ortiz who is way to limited a fighter to give Floyd trouble.

Against Maidana, Ortiz showed his mental fragility. I don't care what excuses he used, the guy quit when the pressure came on. With Floyd it's usually safer to play the points, but I think the occasion is too much and we see Ortiz's mental frailties come back into play. I am playing Floyd +200 to win by KO/TKO

IMO, Floyd ITD is the least likely outcome.  Most likely is Floyd by decision (overwhelmingly likely).  Then Ortiz ITD, Ortiz decision.

I just believe Mayweather is going to punish Ortiz...Ortiz should have his moments early but mayweather will take control in the middle rounds. He will use Ortiz aggression againat him. berto tries to use the philly shell as defense but clearly he is nowhere near Mayweathera level. Counter right hands all day.

The back and forth here is hilarious. Fact: Ortiz is bigger and slower so that makes Mayweather is smaller and faster.  You have to take into consideration ringsmanship, experience heart etc.  All of these are advantage - Mayweather.  Come Sunday morning, headlines will read: Mayweather wins by TKO.  Nuff Said !!!
