Two plays so far:
- Molina (+185) risking .8 to win 1.48
- Jones ITD (-390) + Donaire ITD (-247) risking 2 to win 1.53
Hank is the better boxer in this matchup, and seeing him outbox Molina wouldn't be a shock to me. That being said, I think Molina will rough him up any way possible and hopefully take him out of his game. He's a lot taller than him and he holds a significant edge in punching power. I'm betting on Molina being able to wear him down.
I love Mike Jones. I'm not just talking about this fight, but in general. The odds are huge, so I'm not going to be making any big money on this fight, but I think he dominates this showcase tonight.

Both shows last night were really good. I was out last night, so I just watched them now. Really entertaining stuff. Some thoughts:
- Tyner/Smith was a really good fight. I just wanted to watch this fight without action on it, to see if Smith could really pose a challenge to Jones. That fight appears to be up in smoke now, so it doesn't matter. Once his eye got really bad, he was totally out of the fight mentally. Tyner fought well and was relentless at the end. Good win for him.
- Jones looked tight for the first round of the fight, maybe some nerves showing. He's a huge welterweight, and once he started throwing that right hand with conviction, it was only a matter of time. It was an obvious low blow, and bad call on the KO, but Garcia wanted no more. That was obvious as well. He was beaten at that point, and he wasn't going to hear the next bell no matter what. Jones is still rough in a few areas, but I like him a lot.
- Even though Biosse won pretty comfortably in the FNF opener, it was a good scrap. Teddy even dropped the 'call your friends' line on us. He was right. Good scrap, good crowd, good card.
- People might criticize this stoppage, but I think it was good (and not just because I had Molina). Lundy looked ready to go at the beginning of the round, when he was holding the ropes with his left while getting tagged. When the fight was stopped, he wasn't throwing anything back, and he was getting tagged with clean, hard shots. As Teddy and Joe said, once his shoulders sagged, the ref had to get in there. If he didn't, Lundy would've been on his back anyway. Sure Lundy was mildly complaining afterwards, but when he got dropped in the 8th, he was also complaining that it was a trip (which it wasn't). He was hurt pretty bad and was going to get KO'd in this fight if the ref didn't jump in. Lundy is too small and doesn't hit hard enough to be successful, IMO. Stronger guys will walk through his punches for as long as it takes and eventually get to him. He's been dropped a bunch of times, and I just don't see anything good in his future. Molina is very tough and can crack. That's enough to beat a lot of guys. I didn't write him off after that loss to Honorio, and I think he can have a nice career.
Tonight, I'm rolling with the Donaire ITD bet, and maybe something else later.

I think if Lundy doesnt get caught in the 8th because he's screwing around he makes it to the final bell easily. That knock down totally turned the fight around and basically took everything out of Lundy .Scores were 98-91 twice and 97-92 at the time of stoppage.
Good win on Molina Danno and GL tonight

I think the JuanMa fight will be a pretty good one. I don't think I'll be making any plays with it. The o/u is tough at 8.5. Lopez can certainly KO him at any point, but I think Concepcion might hang around for a while. I'll just be watching this one, I think.
Thanks.

I am a JuanMa fan. I will unload on him against Marquez, when that fight happens. If Marquez struggles tonight, and it gets me better odds in the winter, that's fine with me.
Good luck rich.

If Juanma wins impressively tonight, I think you're right, with the -400 range. If Bernabe goes the distance and looks good in spots, it'll probably be slightly less. I'll play Juanma ITD big against Marquez.
And Donaire is good, but that fight lasted about five rounds longer than it should've. He says he wanted to get some rounds in, but he took a little damage along the way.

Lots of fights on TV next weekend too. I have tickets to the Zab Judah fight in Newark at The Rock. Unfortunately, my brother just gave me tickets to the NYY/TB Rays game that night too. Tough call.
Thanks.

I agree, even though I'm not a Yanks fan (should be a good game). Zab probably blows out Santa Cruz. The problem is, I'm super-lazy. I live two blocks from the Newark city subway and can be at The Rock in less than 15 minutes. The Bronx can be a pain in the ass. I either have to drive or take three different trains. But he gave me these tickets for my birthday, and it would be shitty for me to give them away. That's the deciding factor, I guess.
