What was the deal with that card? Was it a tournament format or something? From the looks of it on boxrec Sexton won it all since he won three fights. It's pretty tough to bet three round fights with relative unknowns.
Fullbrights, it was an elimination tournament.
Yeah you gotta go with the puncher in these three rounders. Someone tipped me off that Pele Reid was training seriously and his record of 17 TKO’s in 19 wins suggest firepower and all 5 loses of his are by TKO which suggests a macho kind of attitude like Mayorga had in his best days that would actually help him in a three rounder versus the “untouchable” boxer Sam Sexton.
As fate had it, Sam really was untouchable…
I dunno why you but on Bradley by Dec, as his opponent always comes to fight n win, I had a small wager on the under there and still think it was the play.
As for Casamayor vs JMM, I had a big big on on JMM straight, (hey it IS value as you don’t have to predict the outcome and you get a refund in the draw), and a tiny on the TKO as I sorta sensed a certain audacity in Casamayor’s face which I theorised would lead to a spirited fight and not the usual backward ballroom dance. Casa actually stated to the media he wouldn’t go backward in this fight anyway.
I couldn’t post any of this at covers because the only computers near me at the time were APPLES and for some reason you can’t post on covers forums from an APPLE, though you can log in.
As for Guzman, he was SCARED. Now he was working with the Mayweathers, the most professional in the business, don’t say he would come a whole 3.5 lbs over on the day by error. He must have told em he “felt a loss coming” (you know they say warrior feels it coming) and the Mayweather’s would have advised him a loss on his record hurts his financial career more than not gaining those 3 belts.
