The ARGOS are the defending champs and have a some nice weapons on offense with Owens now being a legit big time receiver that can take the ball to the house on any play.
And with Kackert not signing with the JEDS that means they have a great option in the backfield. They also have Mr.Consistency as their pivot in Double R Ricky Ray. As and ESKIES fan I nearly soiled my pantaloons when I hear they were moving him for a QB that couldn't even hold down the damn starting job. But thats a rant for another day.....actually tomorrow when I cap the SASK/EDM game.
But for me the question is what is the ARGOS defense gonna be like. They have had to replace a ton of vets and experience. Ricky Fowly is gone to SASK. Armond Armstead is trying it in the NFL. Bellie is retired AGAIN for the who knows how times. Add to that Kuale whos in MON and Ronald Flemmons who was released. Evan McCollough is in HAMMY now. And then 2 more retiries in Younger and Carroll.
For the TiCats it's pretty simple. They don't have Chris Williams arguably other than Owens the most talented play maker in the league. And that means 1300 yards or 25% of their receiving yards and 17 scores or about 30% of their offense.
HAM still has plenty of options through the air though and with a few of them Canadians like Stala and Giguere that allows imports at other positions. And they also have a quality back of their own in Chevron Walker who averaged 5.6 per carry last year.
On the other side of the ball it's a somewhat similar story to the ARGOS in that there are gonna be a bunch of changes. But that may be a good thing as the TiCats D was very suspect so a new infusion of players may be a good thing.
So overall I think we have two more than capable offense and teams with MASSIVE changes on the defensive side of the
ball. And with the offense typically already having an advantage at this
time of year due to timing issues for the defense. And it being a game
thats already geared towards high scoring. I think the OVER is the best
play of the game so I will be on that for my "main" play for this game
with a smaller play(s) on HAMMY who still get a FG and may catch the
ARGOS a lil less hungry and maybe a bit hungover after winning the 100th
Grey Cup last year
