Onwards and upwards we go......season to date records.
NFL 25-18-1, 21-13-1 against the spread in the NFL supercontest.
CFL 33-22 ATS
College football 18-20 ATS.
Indigo CFL lines
Ottawa +9 42 Calgary
Edmonton +7 41 Hamilton
Toronto -4 45 Lions
Montreal -3 46 Riders
Favorites are coming in in the CFL and teams with crummy quarterbacks are not covering....early leans....Montreal, Hamilton, Calgary.
Montreal has graduated to a real contender in the East. The Argos are the best team but their quarterback play is so erractic that I have soured on them.
And you heard it here first.....Winnipeg is set to join the NFL with the NFL sending to the CFL the Jaguars, the Jaguars' cheerleaders and the whole state of Florida to placate the powers-that-be in Canada.

Early discussions in regards to Winnipeg had the CFL and the government of Canada being contacted by the Detroit Lions and the NFL in regards to a possible straight up trade of the Detroit Lions and the state of Michigan in exchange for Manitoba and the Blue Bombers, which the government of Canada and the Bombers' brain trust rejected out of hand as an "utterly absurd offer."
Florida then was proposed, which the Canadian government is more apt to consider.

Negotiations between the CFL and NFL escalated into a proposed state of Florida for Manitoba straight up trade between the two countries with the Jaguars and Bombers being only a part of the trade....if this trade goes through, this would be the largest USA territorial acquisition in the USA since the Louisiana Purchase.
Discussions remain ongoing, though power brokers are saying that having Ron DeSantos become a Canadian citizen is a real sticking point in the proposed trade.

A week 8 home favorite who has the greater yards per pass average on the season and their defensive yards per pass average is better than their opponent's....48-64 ATS
VERSUS Cardinals, Bills, Browns, Seahawks
A week 8 away dog that has the greater yards per pass average on the season....41-60 ATS.

Teams with the better passing yards averages in October/November are regressive in nature....in other words those teams that HAVE passed the ball more efficiently will according to past history be less likely to cover.
I mentioned earlier that teams with the better yards per pass average offensively and also the better defensive yards per pass average have had a poor covering percentage.
Let's look into it again....
Home favorites in October or November with the better offensive passing averages and the better defensive average season-to-date have been 348-453 ATS, 43.4%
If we stipulate that either they will be a dog next game or their opponent will be a favorite this moves to 206-328 ATS, 38.6%.
HF and tA(passing yards/passes)>oA(passing yards/passes) and 9<month<12 and day=Sunday and oA(o:passing yards/o:passes)>tA(o:passing yards/o:passes) and (n:D or on:F)
VERSUS Seahawks, Browns, Bills.
If our better passing team will be a dog and their opponent will be a favorite their next games this moves to 39-84 ATS............12-29 ATS and 20-22 straight up in divisional games........VERSUS Browns

We're not overthinking it this week, we're fading bad teams and will until the end of the season and their GMs figure out a way to get a servicable quarterback that doesn't donate to their opponent's scoring.
1) Calgary -11
2) Hamilton -5......Edmonton made the move they HAD to make in getting Nick Arbuckle setting them up for next year. I haven't seen anything from the Edmonton coaching staff to make me believe they'll be around very long. They refuse to throw the ball down the field, and it would benefit them greatly to watch replays of the Indianapolis/San Francisco game where Carson Wentz basically lobbed the ball straight up down the field and got about 150 free yards by having opposing cornerbacks foul his receivers. If you never do that, you'll never get the chance for the officials to reward you in modern football.
3) BC +4............It looks bad if you play a team that lost 45-0 last week and they don't cover for you. We've looked bad before.
4) Montreal +1....public still valuing the Riders whose offense isn't doing anything. Defenses have learned that the most productive part of the Riders' O has been Fajardo running in key moments and now defenses are ready for it. I expect Montreal to outrush and outrush attempt Saskatchewan which is a HUGE positive indicator for relative performance in football.

8) Packers +6, winner......Pack get the win as AJ Green doesn't get the memo.....my pet peeve in modern football is having a receiver run down the field and not even bother to look for the football...."you get paid millions right, to catch a football once in awhile?!"
