There is a huge shift happening in the CFL...The 3rd place team in the East would be 1st place all by themselves in the West. I've never seen that as long as I can remember. The West has always been much more dominant. There is only 5 points separating 1st place and last in the West. NFL is right around the corner!
OTT @ BC -2.5 This game is the Touchdown Atlantic game being played in Halifax. The Lions have now lost 5 games in a row and are super desperate for a win. Ottawa looks like the next best team to Montreal with an amazing defence and QB that is playing lights out and will only get better. Not only has Rourke not lived up to standards yet, their defence is becoming a huge liability. Rourke is starting even though VA appears to be ready and healthy.
BC also resigned Mathieu Betts who will be playing which is insane. They are going all out for a Grey Cup at home this year. I am going to roll with BC in this game. As much as I want to take Ottawa again, this is a back to back against the same team and BC is in must win mode. I am taking BC to win and cover in a close high scoring game. Ottawa will be without 2 WRs and 2 LBs which is a big deal. 31 - 26 Lions
WPG @ SK -2 The Riders just keep losing (and tying) in the most bizarre ways, losing on a Toronto missed FG rouge on the last play of the game last week. But my Riders are still in first in the West! This is Labor Day. This is the game the Riders win. They will win this week and lose next week in the Banjo Bowl. The Riders are now winless in their last 5 games and the Bombers have won 3 in a row and only 1 point out of 1st.
It almost seemed the Bombers were looking ahead to this game the way they were playing against Hamilton last week. Winnipeg will be in for a tough ride with a sold out crowd, Collaros won't be able to hear his calls or audible on offense and players will be going offsides with timing being thrown off by the crowd. The Riders will be ready for the Bombers this game and come out with added intensity. Harris will play much, much better. Riders win and cover. 24-20 Riders
TOR -5 @ HAM I know it's Labor Day and this is a huge rivalry. I know the TiCats usually show up for this game. But I cannot bet on this years version of the TiCats with this coaching staff. Hamilton played much better defensively last week but was it because Winnipeg was looking ahead to this week and overlooking the worst team in the league?
Bo Levi/bad defence/bad coaching VS Chad Kelly/good defence/good coaching I will be taking Toronto to win and cover. Simoni Lawrence isn't around for Hamilton anymore to really light a fire under the team and they just don't have the defensive firepower to keep up with the Argos. Also Bo Levi is starting and he is washed. Toronto wins and covers. 33-22 Argos

EDM +3 @ CAL The Elks played Montreal tough and almost snuck out a win without Tre last week. This is a team on the rise. Calgary is coming off the bye and teams are now 8-2-1 off the bye this year. We are not sure if Tre is playing or not.
Calgary has now lost 2 in a row and are 4-1 at home. They are such a weird team to figure out. They have a solid defence with 2 great LBs and 2 even better DBs. They have an awesome RB/WR. Their QB play is average at best. The Elks offense looks potent even without Tre. This is the sketchiest game of the week and really could go either way. Calgary wins but Edmonton covers. 26-24 Stampeders
TEASERS: 18-5 (21-5 including my 2nd pick when only betting 1 teaser game) TEASER: 5.5pts - playing 5.5 pts instead of 6-7 this week as I'm crossing +3 and if you so choose Argos to just win
SK +3.5 I love the Riders to win in this spot at home on Labor Day after being winless in their last 5 and got a FG cushion here just incase.
I don't like any other teasers this week, but if I had to choose another game to pair with SK +3.5 it would be TOR +0.5 (just need Toronto to win).
Montreal stays at 1 and Ottawa at 2. Montreal is on a 5 game winning streak, Ottawa on 2. Toronto moved up 1 spot with their 2nd win in a row. Winnipeg also moved up 1 spot with their 3rd win in a row. Sask dropped 2 spots and have now dropped 3 spots overall in the last 2 weeks and are winless in their last 5 games. BC, Edmonton, Calgary and Hamilton stay in the same spots.
The whole west division is taking up spots 4-8 in my power rankings. The only changes in my power rankings this week are spots 3-5.
Good luck!

Honestly I wasn't expecting him to sign again with BC, was fully expecting another team to pick him up. BC now has Rourke, VA and Betts which is nuts. I know Rourke and Betts aren't getting paid their full contract amounts this year, but still you can fully tell BC doesn't care if they're over the cap, they want the Cup this year. Good luck.

Woops, I was still in 2023, thanks.

I hope they (BC) get their Cup.
