What a rough start to the season so far, time to turn it around.
EDM @ BC -7 The Elks played the Argos tight last week giving it their all and almost coming out with a win. A ton of Argos players now on the Elks could of had something to do with that. Now the Elks are on a short week and have to travel to BC to play a hungry Lions team. Bethel-Thompson was complaining about his team having to play in 4 days on a short week, suck it up buttercup. He had a great game last week though throwing for 342 yards and 4 TDs. Although Edmonton has been in all 3 games they've lost this year (losing by 3,3 and 7 points), they'll come out flat and lethargic after they gave it their all last week and still came up short which is deflating. Bethel-Thompson may even tank this game to prove his point, who knows. They've also been pretty one-dimensional with Brown not having much room to run, and their run defense is bad.
The Lions beat a desperate Bombers team in Winnipeg last week with Adams having a huge game throwing 398 yards for 2 TDs. BC is gaining great balance with Stanbeck at RB which they very much needed after last year. BC and Sask are going to be duking it out in the West in my opinion for the right to go to the Grey Cup this year. BC is going to have another big home crowd behind them in this one and Adams is playing. BC wants this more. Lions win and cover. 36-20 Lions
MTL -3 @ TOR These are by far the 2 best teams in the East and will likely be the Eastern Finals matchup. Right now Montreal's defense looks unbeatable and the offense is doing what they need to win games and keep drives going, putting points on the board in the process. The Als completely annihilated the RedBlacks last week and it's hard to go against them until proven otherwise.
The Argos are coming off a heated win last week against the Elks but are banged up. They'll be missing some key pieces in this game including Ciraco (OL) and Brissett (WR). Dejon Allen (OL) and Cage (OL) are questionable. Ka'Deem Carey should play as he got a full practise in on Wed but is also questionable. Cameron Dukes will get exposed without his O line intact against the best defense in the CFL. Montreal wins and covers. 26-16 Alouettes
WPG -3.5 @ CAL This is it for Winnipeg. They HAVE to win this game. They are backed into a corner, sometimes those teams can be the most dangerous. But they'll have to do it without Lawler (WR), Schoen (WR) who will be out for an extended amount of time, and possibly Wheatfall (WR) who was a DNP in Wed practise. Bailey (WR) was traded. Who is Collaros going to throw the ball to? Demski and Wolitarsky, and Oliveira who is also a bit banged up. Desperation mode 100% activated for the Bombers who didn't work their vets too hard in training camp and barely seen any action in the preseason. I am 0-3 betting the Bombers ATS and ML this year.
Calgary is coming off a bye and teams coming off byes fair pretty well going from the data from last year (13-5 up to week 18 last year). Calgary is 1-1 and would be 0-2 losing to the Ti-Cats if Tim White could catch. The Stamps run defense has also been very suspect, Oliveira should get going in this one. Bombers win and cover. 29-20 Bombers

HAM @ OTT -1 Hamilton looks like a mess right now. Bo Levi is washed, Tim White can't catch, their defense is awful, and I believe Milanovich is not the right fit as head coach. This team has a lot of issues that won't be fixed in 1-2 games. Hamilton is an auto no bet for the time being for me. Both teams got crushed last week.
Dru Brown didn't play great last week, Ottawa also didn't have no run game to speak of to help Brown out, but they were playing the juggernaut Alouettes defense. Hamilton is not the Alouettes defense. Dru Brown should have a much better game along with Armstead on the ground. Ottawa wins this one at home on the brink of Canada day which is usually a huge celebration for them in Ottawa. RedBlacks win and cover. 24-18 RedBlacks
TEASERS: 4-2 TEASER: 6.5 pts
BC -0.5 Love the Lions just to win here in this spot with Edmonton on a really short week and whining about it.
Only really like BC on a teaser this week, if you want another teaser pick MTL +3.5 is solid. Toronto is banged up. Even if Montreal loses I can't see it being by more than a FG.
TOP OFFENSIVE GRADE:Montreal Alouettes - The Als ran rough shot all over the RedBlacks last week. What's surprising to me is Fajardo throwing for 393 yards and 3 TDs. This could of also went to Edmonton or Toronto.
TOP DEFENSIVE GRADE:Saskatchewan Roughriders - Completely shut down one of the top RBs in the league in Butler holding him to 5 yards in 10 carries and picking off Bo Levi 3 times including a pick six. Hamilton was also the lowest scoring team of week 3.
MY POWER RANKINGS: 1)Montreal 2)Toronto 3)Saskatchewan 4)BC 5)Calgary 6)Edmonton 7)Ottawa 8)Winnipeg 9)Hamilton
First power rankings of the year now that we are 3 weeks in.
Good luck!
