Yes I'm taking Montreal !!! It's a must win for both teams early in the season but I'm going to back the home team and lay the points. The Alouettes showed some signs of  life in the first 2 quarters of  last week's game and I couldn't think of a better spot to stop the bleeding. There is only one team I rank behind Montreal in my power rankings and that is Edmonton. Montreal's biggest problem this year has been coaching and the play calling !! I guess the two go hand and hand . Right ! Jerome Messam needs to get involved in the offense a little more. Wake up Mike Miller !! ( Offensive Coordinator )

55 ?? All I can say is way to high in my opinion. I made my number 52.5. Too many question marks on offense for the Blue Bombers while their defense is stellar. They do have the quickest linebackers in the league and this may pose a problem for Glenn. Buck Pierce status for this game is unknown and I wouldn't get too excited with Goltz at the helm. His numbers last week 13-15  170 yards was when the Argos were playing prevent defense.

Not to take anything away from the Roughriders because they clearly are the best team in the league after 4 weeks , but usually when good teams in this league get embarrassed the week before they do bounce back. However I'm being cautious here and taking side and total for only 1 unit each.

 No line as of yet on the BC/TOR game. Ricky Ray is listed as day to day , while kackert will be out 4-6 weeks. If Ray doesn't play I make the line BC -1 if Ray starts I make Toronto a -3. If I do make a wager on this game I will post it on Thursday.

It opened 56 at the Greek !! 5 Dimes , Heritage and a few other books had it at 55 yesterday. Pinny took it down and most books are using 53.5 today.

Of course it feels like easy money, they've been steam rolling over everyone, but if handicapping was this easy !! Meaning , just take the better team. We'd be making money faster than we can spend it. Line is up to 4.5 and my only regret here was that I should of waited.

True, Hamilton isn't as good as I thought they would be. Obviously their missing a few key players and I thought Lamar , who had a good pre season was going to be a viable option in the running game. As the season progresses we learn and adjust or power rankings.

When I make a wager, I don't solely base it on past performances. If it was that easy , then the roughriders would run the table and  go 18-0. There are a few angles that you have to incorporate in your handicapping along with recent games played. Teams playing off emotion while coming off embarrassing outings are always worth a look especially as a home dog.
